A new month has begun, so it’s time to check what happened so far since my last post.
There were some big developments in the vehicle department with the addition of 4 new cars !! Yes you read it right 4 cars in less than 3 weeks!
1991 BMW M3 E30 (<- click for more images)
2012 BMW M3 GT (<- click for more images)
2012 Ford Focus RS (<- click for more images)
2011 Mercedes –Benz AMG SLS (<- click for more images)
These 4 have put a lot of smiles in everyone faces around here and I believe it will do the same to some of you! :D
A new track has also been added, Solitude Rennstrecke, still in a very wip state but already showing how great this classic track was back in the old days when the races were done by man and machine only, no electronics there to help you out a pure driving joy to have! (pictures will come later on when its more developed)
Besides these great news the developers also shown some early sketches of the Grid Girls to be used in the game and boy must I say they look sexy ! Unfortunately I cannot post them here because they are on the edge of forum rules but believe me they would make something move down there!
Qualifying mode has been introduced as well, only available currently in single player mode but it gives you a taste of what’s coming into the multiplayer eventually.
The handling consultants, Nicolas Hamilton and Ben Collins have been giving some amazing feedback and as a result of that the physics recently improved largely on most of the cars but the most exciting ones to be the new Ford Focus RS, Racer L4-RS, Caterham R500/Classic and Formula A (F1).
There were a few, of course that didn’t improve as much and it still feels a bit out of place but with the constant feedback given by the consultants and the community they will surely get there soon enough!
In the visual department there were some big updates also, new weather functionalities have been added, as some new rain droplet improvements that make you astonished of how realistic it look and react when hitting your car and windshield, you can see some pictures in the links above!
Andy Tudor also introduced recently new UI improvements, which will improve the menu navigations greatly!
About the 2 day opening to new members to register it seems to be taking a bit more than expected, as soon theres more info about it I will post on this thread, be sure to subscribe so you don’t lose the track from sight! ;)
That’s all for now, as soon as more developments happen I will be sure to post here.
Jesus Very Christ, that Focus RS is lovely. And that E30. And the M3. And the SLS. I think I'll get this downloading so I can have a go later.
Edit: As it turns out I couldn't wait. I think the Focus has 100% rear brake bias because whenever I even lightly touched the brake it went completely sideways, but as with all cars in pCARS it'll be fixed up soon enough I'm sure. The Huayra is similarly difficult to drive, it just seems to lock up immediately... The Caterham is still extremely good fun though.
Any news on the next chance to buy in?

the link is a bit off
Here i am again, another 2 weeks have gone by and “Oh my god” could they have been even better?
Let’s start with something I’ve spoken last time, the Grid Girls, I couldn’t show you images before but now I have one that can be shared.
Beware those with heart condition or that recently took Viagra, what you are about to see may cause undesired effects!
This is one of the variations (work in progress), there are others planned with different outfits/faces.
Another thing that may cause some funny feelings down there is the recent car announcement, the RUF RGT-8.
You may think the announcement isn’t that exciting, you already knew it was coming, but what if you could see some images of the car in-game? Oh yeah!!
Yes it’s not a Porsche we all know that, but it is a sexy beast and look at “DAT ASS”, even as a very early preview of the car it looks amazing and its hoped to come to a build in the next weeks.
Besides these 2 great news there’s another one for all the French car lovers out there, the Pirault Mega RS, similar to a Renault Megane III RS Cup this baby has been brought in-game to give the Focus RS some hard time and I must say it’s a really nifty car to drive. Slower in the straights than the RS but when you get into a corner you will just be gaining so much it wont matter how fast the Focus RS goes! (unless you are in a oval!)
More images available here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/9loe4f7er...Pirault Megane
The fog effect also got some work done recently with the addition of a mist effect that looks absolutely brilliant and turns the whole experience much more immersive, you can check them below.
Do you have the guts to try and drive in these conditions?
The physics was another department that also suffered some changes recently with the addition of the flexible tire carcasses, we are starting to notice deformation on the tires and a different reaction in terms of grip depending on the compound used, there’s a lot of progress in this area with multiple tires currently available for different cars but not quite finished! The feedback from the community and our resident consultants (Nicolas Hamilton and Ben Collins) has helped the developers to deliver a lot of fixes and improvements to turn this game into something that can’t be explained any longer by just using words or images.
Another great addition was the introduction of a built-in Downsampling method, delivering the same quality as the former AA methods like MSAA4x and 8x but with a better performance, theres still some edges that need refinement but the developers are on the right track, you will notice in the next community (coming next week) gallery for sure the difference it makes.
That’s all for now, hope you guys have enjoyed this update!
The grid girls,do they look like hookers in real life to ?
... I take the lives of a few to protect the lives of many. I commit acts of war to preserve the greater peace. I take no joy in killing, but make no mistake; I'll do what needs to be done. Because it's my job. It's my duty. My name is Sam Fisher, and I am a Splinter Cell.
Go search @ google! ^^
I bet hes still enjoying googling for them :p

Depends on your personal image of what a hooker looks like, but they're mostly just your average girls from a local casting bureau or model agency that do these kind of promotional events on the side. In Singapore, for example, the grid girls for the Formula One race go through a pretty big competition with roughly 150 candidates to get selected: http://superadrianme.com/2012/08/02/...id-girls-2012/
I tend to visit quite a few races each year here in The Netherlands and Belgium and the few grid girls I've spoken to tended to be students, and, I admit this was initially somewhat to my surprise, actually pretty knowledgeable about the sport.
Last Tuesday, Remco Van Dijk posted on the WMD forums: "We (SMS) are currently in discussion with the UK's financial authority, FSA, about the legal side of the WMD business model. Once this has been cleared, sign-up may be opened again." It seems the FSA has some concerns they want cleared up. The way the funding for the project is done is rather unusual and few precedents exists, so that's (somewhat) understandable.
