I agree with the looking at GW2 skills.
Rock, Paper,...
Summon flesh golem
Scatter mines
Signet of rage
or off the S but Rock paper charzooker amuses me.
I think I like "Rock Paper Summon Flesh Golem" from that.
Just figured out how to create a poll so don't bother posting here, go vote on that. It will close in 7 days
I couldn't get onto Desolation either, hence not showing up for the guild (sorry!). I've deliberately been playing stuff that I was not so interested in prior to the BWE, so I've only tried Norn elementalist. I've been surprised to find myself having an absolute blast - I always found ele's a little dull in GW, but the sheer versatility of effectively having 20 skills on hand it just lovely. I'm not sure the weapons are fully balanced though, the staff feels much better than most other combos, and the next two that feel the best to me are both offhands (focus and dagger in off).
And Rock, Paper, Splinter Shot has a nice ring to it, even down to getting "shot" in there.
That reminds me, one thing we discovered over the weekend is that Guild's are cross server so it does mean that everyone, including American chums could be in the guild. Although clearly it defeats the principal purpose of a guild i.e. playing together, but its better than nothing. The one thing I couldn't figure out is whether the bonuses e.g. 50% influence gain apply to you or just people on the 'home server' - not that I saw any kind of info to say RPS was linked to Desolation so I guess its cross server
I've only had a quick blast on Ele. I always thought I would love it but confess that two things really irked me:
1) Unlocking skills for each weapon and attunement, I really feel like if you unlock 1-5 for fire on staff it should also unlock air etc.
2) I was very wary I wasn't playing the class to its potential because I struggle to juggle the switching. If I had all twenty skills available to me immediately I don't think I'd have much of a problem but my weak brain is unable to process quick enough that: I want this skill > its on that attunement > I hit the relevant f key > I hit the skill key.
I think its just the additional choice component whereas the normal 'toggle' of weapons I have no issue with.
I didn't really try any other weapon combos but definitely liked the staff.
Here is the link for those who may not see it (like me, because apparently I'm blind):

I'd quite like to join up with the guild for the next BWE, played solo for the first two and while it's the most fun i've ever had playing solo in a MMO I can only imagine it'll be even better in a guild. Also I think I read something about being able to join multiple guilds at once, anyone able to confirm that?
Correct, although you have to pick one to 'represent' at a particular time (earning that guild influence, which is used to purchase upgrades). You can however belong to as many as you want and switch representation at will.

I should have posted my mesmer experiences:
Signet of Inspiration is your must-have first skill atm. It gives a random boon every 10 seconds as a passive ability, which is tremendous for single player and also works well for pvp. In PVP the signet with stun and null field were also great. In PVE most others were a bit weak.
Sword is the best weapon to alternatate with staff in pve or pvp, high damage output and also boosts survivability a lot due to blurred frenzy. Illusionary leap sadly still a bit bugged/clunky it seems, but hopefully will be fixed to work for BWE3. Any of the offhands are good. Tend to fire off staff cooldowns while at range, and switch to sword and blurred frenzy when in close, then dodge out of range and switch back to staff etc.
BWE2 was definitely a lot better than BWE1, although still a lot more balancing needed and the clones in particular had their damage nerfed to near 0. Shatter skills also need a lot of work bearing in mind the clone nerf, they are a decent spike in pvp and some people find the distortion effect useful, but I almost never used them with my phantasm approach.
Stress test on Wednesday:

The Stress test next week ends with the end event that BWE2 had. If you missed that, I strongly recommend you're around for it this time, it was bloody brilliant.
Stress test starts tonight at 6pm in the UK (if my calculations are correct)
Also phase 3 of the poll

Finally an opportunity to see the end event. Heard it's pretty special.
They disabled my account. Awesome
Last time I buy a key from ebay.
I ended up on the overflow server for the end event and had a blast despite the immense lag the event caused. I was using a norn so ended up the big hulking juggernaut branded thing, really slow and with lots of rooted attacks but very fun.
Much of last night though, I was guiding a friend who was playing for the first time and had a good laugh. In testing until release, I'm mostly just retreading content I've seen before or playing PvP/WvW, no more spoiling surprises for me (final event shenanigans aside).
