EDIT: It looks like there is more than one list of this kind out there right now so there are bound to be contradictory reports. I'll keep an eye on developments, but it's probably best to let the dust settle before making any lasting decisions.

Who is actually creating the guild by the way? Might it be worthwhile sharing our GW User IDs so people can be found easily (that's what I'm seeing other communities doing at any rate)?

I'm in, played a few MMOs before but never did any guildie stuff. WvWvW is a really big draw for me though so being able to take forts in the name of the honourable(?) RPS sounds like a blast.

Indeed, the more I think about it, the more it may be better to avoid them even this weekend. Anybody got any opinion? Personally, of the potentially huge communities I have no problem lining up alongside the reddit or SA guys. I like the yogscast guys but my exposure (albeit small) to their community is a bunch of angry teens.

PS handsome fellows from PCG have kindly made contact in an attempt to co-ordinate. This is a good thing.

Awesome, an alliance between RPS and PCG would be kinda cool!

How are the NeoGAF crowd? Their Wikipedia article speaks pretty well of them (such research!). The fact that the Jade Sea is pretty much my favourite spot in GW1 is in no way influencing my investigations here >.>

Hey guys, just wanted to say the folks over at PCG are super excited for the weekend. Having personally been in an alliance between PCG and RPS (EVE Online) before, it was some great times.

I'm sure Desolation will be a nice server to get our bearings with GW2, of course this might not reflect our ultimate decision upon the fabled release date ;D.

While I think that RPS plus PCG equals anything but Desolation, I'm excited to hear about the alliance and I wholeheartedly support making that world our home!

Good decision imo. If it's not busy enough can always try something else in the next BWE, or even use the free gems to transfer in this one. I'm sure on release all of these servers will be filled right up though, that's usually the mmo pattern.

Most important thing is to stay clear of the zerg guilds and unofficial language servers, to avoid ques and linguistic obstacles.

Are we going to be making one mighty RPS + PCG guild? or just being on the same server?

Currently the plans are to be separate guilds for this BWE. We can test out functions such as switching representation etc. I don't think GW2 officially supports "Alliances" like they used to in GW1.
