Picking a less crowded server, even for beta is a good idea.
The switching of intended servers sounds like a good idea for, well, you know why, even for just a weekend beta. The download's set - any ideas on whether there's an NDA on the beta weekend for all of us frapsing fanatics?

I do not care for servers as long as it is not the same as SA. I have shared servers with the goons in more than one game and it can easily suck. If they decide to destroy everyones elses game, it gets super annoying.
I'm glad to hear about the collaboration between PCG and RPS, having been a member of both communities for some timeI'm haven't pre purchased and I probably won't play until launch - but I look forward to it!

Well, potentially (might be a bit much hassle for a BWE) we could have separate RPS and PCG guilds , where we earn our rewards for respective guilds. Then have a third guild with members of both, for ease in finding groups and sharing a chat channel. Might take a bit of extra administration, but it would fulfill the alliance function.
Yeah you can be in as many guilds as you want but you can only "represent" one at a time. When you represent one you see their roster, show their guild tag and influence you earn is to that guild. What I meant was you can't have an actual alliance like you can on GW1.
And another newly-registering lurker adds to the list; Rilian.1532

Just a heads up to you guys. Since apparently you moved to desolation to avoid them
That's alright, could always use the extra bodies in WvW and doesn't look like they'll have more than 50 or so EU side. Desolation is still looking the best bet.
It's interesting seeing the populations take shape on the reddit. Arenanet could probably do with some official language servers though, I don't think they realise how diverse the EU is.
