4 screen scene - split screen coop youtube
Seemless HD footage of multiplayer games being played from 4 synchronised feeds, with post match commentary and voip recorded "aftershow" recorded for but not prettied up with skipped content or transitions, constant 4 screen footage.
A project I've been considering for a while. Essentially coop (mainly) and multiplayer games, played by 4 people, recorded, stiched together and presented as one HD video. As few transitions as possible (perhaps just cutscenes in full screen ). Due to only needing to record a quarter of 1080p 540x960 system requirements are not excessive. Add to that a focus on older games.
I have games in my head that I think would be particularly suited which would be fairly unknown quantities which can be shown off well by this kind of display.
Anyone interested in helping?

Wait wait wait.
Are you suggesting a Let's Play with... actual production values? Get outta here. This will never work!

A little bit of sound balancing, but it's the split screen I'm really interested in, but because the video isn't too big I think we could afford the cpu power to max out the sound quality afforded by HD video.

1st/3rd over the shoulder person suits the split better than isometric alike.
SWAT4 (or 3)
Rainbow 6 vegas
A battlefield game (maybe project reality for BF2)
Chaos Theory Versus

I think SWAT would be a good call.
Stuff like L4D1/2 is perhaps a little obvious. Monaco maybe when it's out.
Why do the voice stuff after? Shouldn't be too hard to get the participants to have some interesting chat as well as game necessary stuff. O

Reading the list of games, I'm somewhat interested in this project, sounds like fun. A 4 player MMO group might be an idea, as dull as they are to play, it may mean interesting footage and some are f2p in case noone owns the selected game.

I was thinking of the videos as a multiplayer info-tisement about various multiplayer games from PC gamings rich catalogue people might not be familiar with.
Also Assassin's Creed Brotherhood

I did consider guild wars, or a F2P mmo but they'd often be dull to watch.
Idea Alert! APB with synchronised (not the same though) outfits.
Edit: copy pasta disaster.

I'm actually really interested in helping with this project, Heliocentric..
My rig is more than up to the task (specs available if requested) and I have some experience in FRAPSing and editing game videos and the whole youtube thing.
The main problem I've had is a lack of other friends with also on-par hardware with a willingness to do such a project.
If you still need people, please don't hesitate to ask me.
I'm in the UK, but don't worry about timezones.. I don't have a "pattern" as such and can be available almost anytime you'd need. :)
Game ideas, mostly so i can see if i'm on the same page as you..
Payday: The Heist
Alien Swarm, Killing Floor and Sanctum are excellent suggestions imo. Consider them seconded. :D
Hmm. some "proper teamwork" 4-man Squad Battlefield 3 would also fit. :)

It stalled due to me failing to prototype it, and show a proof of concept.
Add me on steam(heliocentric) and I'll sort something out

If there's still space, I'd be interested. I've dabbled with a few let's plays before (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTaJQo_z--Y) So I ken the basics of filming/commenting. Rig should be up to most things.
The best games to go for will probably be the silly ones. Or at least those that have the propensity to be silly. I'm thinking:
Magicka (probably the sillyest, though I expect we'll all have done the campaigns)
Asassain's Creed (me and Ayam can both tell you how fun that can be)
Killing Floor (Some of the most panicky moments in gaming for me)

R6V2 I think can be hacked to have 4 players, although whether this can be applied to the main campaign as well as the terrorist-hunt is something I'm not sure of. Fun campaign in coop mode, for sure.
I don't think Magicka's a great idea because, if I remember correctly, the screens scroll to accommodate all 4 players so each of the 4 views would look very similar.
Assassin's Creed multiplayer, however, would be excellent to witness on 4 separate screens at the same time - from the hunter and the hunted and then the hunted's own prey etc would be a funky watch.
