Finished Legacy of Kain: Defiance and, despite its rough beginnings (and crap camera) its a great reminder of how well written / scripted / acted this series was. Cant think of any unlikable characters despite pretty much everyone being a dick. Shame the series is now dead.

Funnily enough the new TR game would be a pretty good Blood Omen game. Not enough puzzles for a Soul Reaver game though.

Been playing Kingdoms of Amalur over the last few days. Not earth shatteringly brilliant but I'm having fun with it. Easily worth the four quid it cost me anyway.

Played Banner Saga: Factions almost exclusively for the past two weeks.
Great turn based game, matches are about 20 minutes long and it ain't that hard to get all the units you want.
Though some people say it is "pay to win" because you can speed up the process. But I am doing perfectly fine without spending a dime. Already 20 hours on it.

Of course if it's not that mod then the above is irrelevant in spite of it's eloquent brilliance.

if you're not doing it, you're playing it wrong :P

Question for you Tormenters: do the critters under the Clerk's Ward respawn? It seems no matter how many I kill there are more and more of them. I'm currently stuck quest-wise and think I need to get through a door in that area, but the buggers keep offing me. It is starting to become enough of a pain to cause me to consider stopping playing, which is a shame as I really like the game so far.
I'm running the following mods if it makes a difference:
Ghostdog's incredible UI
Please keep responses spoiler free if possible as I really do want to continue this great game.

More Might & Magic 8. I raided an ogre fortress, de-flooded an underground minotaur city and after getting my ass kicked in an attempt to destroy a dark dwarf mine, I traveled to Shadowspire, the necromancer city to teach my own necromancer and my vampire some new tricks. Meanwhile I also managed to find a legendary sword...in a tree.
A bit melodramatic, but with that monstrosity of a sword Lady Anthile outperforms everyone else dramatically.
Also, despite the incredibly outdated graphics (it came out in 2000) the game has a really good soundtrack.
to wound the autumnal city.

I think I've hit some quest-breaking bugs that may be stopping my progress. Merriman's memory quest: I acquired the river water but now it's not in my inventory? Another weird thing happened with delivering the box to Brasken: somehow the box was opened in my inventory but I don't recall doing that yet still have the quest.

My advice on learning about Ravel would be to make sure you've been round the Public and Private Sensoriums, and spend some time Slaking your Intellectual Lusts.
Merriman's memory quest involves (frost jug jug and Dark Birds exhibit), check all parts of your and companions inventory but it could well be a bug.
Brasken's box: did the box disappear at some point, or have you had to fight anything regarding the box? The quest stays there for a while I think as it can appear later on in the game.

Annah went hostile on me after I got friendly with Grace. I'm thinking maybe a Friends or similar spell could calm her down, but since she's not actively attacking me I can worry about her later.
I'm trying to suss out the shenanigans going on at the whorehouse but have only heard gossip, essentially. Perhaps the basement? I poked about but nothing struck me as important.
Private Sensoriums? Hmm...
I'll snoop around some more as it seems I just haven't played close enough attention thus far. Thanks!

Took a break from playing Brogue after dying before even getting to the 10th level and played Mother 3. A brilliant game which lets you throw a banana peel to a tank only to see it slip violently and take damage. Now on the fourth chapter and just started playing as Lucas.Art blog here.

Question for those who’ve played the NV DLC-when’s the best time to do it? It feels abit odd running off for a jolly to Utah while the fate of the Mojave is in the balance.
Did you just make a save at a certain point and go back to it later? Can you start a new game at the appropriate level and just run off and do the content?

From best to worst the mods go, Old World Blues (by far), Lonesome Road, Honest Hearts, and then Dead Money. I would say Old World Blues is the only unskippable one, it's downright hilarious with a bunch of really cool environments. Lonesome Road is a fine piece of Avellone writing, but it's delivered through a several hours long dungeon run, albeit with cool setpieces. Dead Money attempts to be a neat casino robbery story, but it never really comes together. Lonesome Road gets the exploring aspect of the game and the environment is well-crafted, but the tribes feel more like set-pieces than distinct groups.
