Just beat Binding of Isaac for the first time tonight. Such a fun little game. Last fight ended up being much easier than I thought it would be, but of course with such a random game it was probably due to my pickups and gear than anything else.
I'm failing to writing a blog, specifically about playing games the wrong way

I'm playing Astro Galaxy, it's a new space exploration game. Really nice graphics:

For the first time I've really been captured by Empire: Total War, and am looking forward to taking it on tomorrow. I had a massive, massive battle in the Rhineland of about 16,000 men and won and it felt so incredible I want more. I'm using Darthmod 8 which adds terrific musket sounds that really improve the atmosphere. Also, I've taken 2 provinces and I'm about 10 years in! That said I took them with extremely large forces, have the means to support them and they give me very important footholds (one in Europe and another in America). Where next I...should have taken more screenies.
You guys played FMV games before? That link leads to ruthless self-promotion, so be careful. If so, do you have favourite ones? I'm only kind of discovering them now and LPing as I go along.
Continuing Anachronox and as everyone and their mother always leaps how good the writing is.. which is about the only good thing in the game :/
* The levels are butt ugly. And I don't mean "this game is old" I mean "this is some generic and uninspired art direction" ugly.
* The amount of backtracking is annoying, especially considering...
* So many pointlessly long and vapid tunnels. Whyyyy? Every time I'm sent on a quest on the other side of Nox I get increasingly annoyed...
* No distinction between usable/unusable stuff. Especially bad with doors; hello "click on everything" gameplay.
* Slightly annoying UI. Every time I stop I need to reorient myself and figure out wtf my life cursor is since it never seems to stay in one place.
So far the old dude joined me and I am going on a quest without really understanding why im doing what Im doing or why I should care. "Get a job" isn't the best motivator when 99% of it involves walking back and forth in tediously repetetive and blocky corridors...
Finished Vessel, it had this great final level, Then you are thrown into your workshop and given a prompt to do something which is completely unexplained in a few ways. I had to look on youtube despite scouring the ingame material for clues.
Way to utterly screw up my opinion. Before that last "challenge" I thought it was flawlessly designed and dripping with charm. Now i guess I still feel that way, but like Vampire Bloodlines I add the caveat "don't feel the need to finish it", admittedly at 99% rather than the 40% of Bloodlines.
What now?

Played Dark Souls?What now?
I'm totally hooked on Morrowind + Overhaul 3.0. Performance could be better, but it doesn't crash, looks gorgeous and is Morrowind. I already dread the arrival of XCOM and Dishonoured.
Spent the past couple of days still ill but definately catching up on game time. Last night & this morn was a Borderlands 2 blast with some oif the RPS folks, the Circle of Slaughter in the Fridge was so much fun!
I also gave Reasonance a try, and its good, but hasn't hooked me like Gemini Rue or Blackwell. The short term memory mechanic is a real pain in the arse, it just doens't feel fluid. I'm only a couple of hours in though and its already thrown some nice plot hooks, so i look foward to getting through it (Also i HATED the "wiggle mouse to cut the rope" bit, those type of tactile puzzles are REALLY out of place in a point and click).
This morning I pick up half price Thomas was alone, and played it enough to set up my JoytoKey, and its lovely. I'll be waiting for a quiet night in to playe that.
I also picked up half price Legend of Grimrock from the devs. I haven't booted it up yet, but before i get into it proper are there any mods people are recommending already?

Trying to finish Rochard. At the start it was quite fun but now I'm starting to feel like the levels are all alike. I'm at the Casino for the second time, hopefully it won't be much longer than that.
I also put in a FTL run every now and then. I can consistently defeat the boss on easy with all the ships I have so far, but normal is still a mystery to me.
edit: OK, so that was actually the last act in Rochard. But then why bother with the anti-gravity mines, you get them literally 5 minutes before the end?

I meant to spend a few hours getting into Prison Architect today but got distracted and ended up playing Theme Hospital instead. If only GOG sold Theme Park...
I'm catching up on some non-game non-work personal projects lately, so gaming has taken a backseat...but this week I've dipped into some old-school X-Com and I just picked up Rebuild for iOS based on the Pocket Tactics coverage (and recent sale).
Personally I deserve to be shot, hung, drawn and quartered. :( I complained to a housemate that the wait for Xcom made every other game unplayable (Bar the original UFO: Enemy Unknown (I refuse to call that one Xcom)).
He offered me a Mists of Pandaria key and I've been using it to pass the time :(
Enjoyable, but really WoW is dead for me (I've spent most of today just doing Pok....Pet Battles)
Binary Domains mouse controls are terrible, the pad controls are bad too (pads can be fine, see GTA4 or Batman AA/AC where they are excellent). I really hate Big Bo and i hope i can get him killed.

More FTL, to do my second AAR. Hopefully we can make it to Sector 8 this time.
Also, some Binding of Isaac. After a few months away from it I lost all my skills, so I'm slowly gaining them back. Actually got down to the Caves yesterday!
