Got FTL on the Steam weekend sale, and managed to get about 40 minutes into it yesterday. I already died about 5 times. Fucking solar flares.

SA was always my favourite of the GTAs. GTA4 runs a lot better now than it did on release, however if you've never played it before I must warn you a lot of the fun from previous GTAs was thrown out for a grittier, more realistic story and gameplay. There's no taxi missions, no fire truck missions, no insane stunt bonuses, collectables have been replaced by shooting pigeons and there's almost no whacky or out there missions to be played. That's not to say it's not good, it's a good game. But it's nothing really like SA or Vice.

... I take the lives of a few to protect the lives of many. I commit acts of war to preserve the greater peace. I take no joy in killing, but make no mistake; I'll do what needs to be done. Because it's my job. It's my duty. My name is Sam Fisher, and I am a Splinter Cell.
The most important thing is to patch the game to latest patch, before that i had major issues with game, because it run like shit.

I just finished Dishonored, and this video sums up pretty much sums up my opinion on the game. (note1: I'm not the author of the video. note2: It's quite spoilery).
Starting my third Far Cry 3 play through soon, I can't believe it's real to be honest, been waiting in anticipation since the second blew me away.
An odd one, I know judging your affection of a game against its metascore is a recipe for disaster but Dead Rising 2 is surprisingly better than the score it has. Its got IMO GTA4 level graphics, great mechanics, a daft as rabbits story and an amazing sense of ownership.
I know a level of detail about the malls and parks now that I don't know even know about my own local shopping centre, and that's so enjoyable, grab a builders hat while I'm escorting someone, make a beerhat later, I'll safe that axe that's half damaged, add it to a sledge hammer to make a 'defiler'.
So, here I am, putting down a gun and a sword because a carton of juice and a fire axe are more useful when I realise I am learning the game without ever being trapped into a mission I cant refuse or magically having all my weapons taken off me. at no point do I need to wait for an AI to tell me we have "cleared an area", and if someone suggests a mission I can just refuse, and go strap a machine gun to a motorbike and try and reach the next milestone in zombie kills, go explore some of the corners my travels have never taken me to or go hunt down those 'Psychopaths' I was ignoring for more pressing matters.
I'm failing to writing a blog, specifically about playing games the wrong way

CK2 is such a time vampire, just lost 3 hours to it and I wasn't responsible for even one death. :(

I gave up on DR2 after an hour or so because of the atrocious save system.
The Medallion of the Imperial Psychopath, a Napoleon: Total War AAR
For the Emperor!, a Total War: Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai AAR
What's wrong with the save system? Take a piss, save.
Dead Rising is like Garth Ennis comics. The first game you play/series you read is wonderful, fresh, and entertaining. The second one starts to wear a bit, but is still fun. Beyond that, you realize that every game is exactly the same (and that every Ennis comic is the same basic set of gags to cover for the lightly veiled attacks at acceptable targets).
Steam: Gundato
PSN: Gundato
If you want me on either service, I suggest PMing me here first to let me know who you are.
It's probably just incompatible with my play style. I get distracted by the shinies and spend hours running around doing various shit only to die and then be told all that transpired since my last save only happened in my head. Of course that's true, but being reminded of that is depressing.

well... single core 7 year old cpu is worthless when it comes to gtaIV. GPU manages to handle it alright but cpu is the bottleneck.
shame. but i do have 150+ of other games i had never played to keep me occupied.
