I played three games, I think. One of them reached wave 16, but we didn't manage to kill them.

Me and my Brother are playing Borderlands just now and loving it. I'm Mordecai, he's Brick, s' great fun, probably the msot satisfying shooting I've experienced in a game for as long as I can remember. All the weapons *feel* as responsive or slick or thuddy or smacky or bangy as they should, and crticials and head shots are ludicrously satisfying. It's beautiful, witty, clever and heck of a lot of fun. As an RPG the classes are pretty vanilla across the board-they all just shoot basically, with a gimmick added (does this change in 2? One guy seems to have a sword?)-but as a fun shooter with tons of loot and decent levelling mechanic it's top class.

Plenty of room to go deep if you want it, although I don't. I'm a bit confused by this Playthrough 1 and Playthrough 2 stuff though, anyone explain that? Is it not tedious going through the game twice to progress?

XCOM. Looks like I'm gonna lose Russia, Canada and Mexico if I don't launch a satallite up now. I was going to save it for Brazil for that perk SA has but man, this is tough. Brazil can probably wait so, maybe I'll just let Mexico and Canada burn. Sorry.

Getting ready for next Summer sale by trying to finish all the games I bought last summer. This time is Beyond Good & Evil's turn, which I would have probably liked for the most part, regardless of the formulaic/derivative storyline, if only the camera and controls weren't crap and the game bug-ridden all of which conspired to make my experience quite a bit frustrating (and the final boss fights are so cheap I hardly have any words).

Platitude of the day: play it on a console, if you must.

Satellites are always your A Number One priority. Soldiers can be replaced.

    4-5 the first month
    4-5 the second month
6+ each subsequent month until capped.

I usually forego worrying about getting full continents for the bonus until the third month and focus entirely on making sure I keep the highest panicking countries from seceding by plonking a satellite on whatever looks hinky.

The reason for this is, when you go and take the smaller continents (Africa and the Americas) early on, yeah, you get a bonus, but you also inevitably lose a country in the largest continents because the one primary reason for panicking - the abductions - happens only on continents that don't have full coverage (so you're effectively focusing the aliens' efforts on Asia and Europe) and have a continent-wide effect (which is hard to counteract when you have four countries each to pacify).

Yeah I found this to be the case. If you lose countries, you lose the game. I had a team full of crack specialists who were so good that I still don’t know what a Chrysalids attack looks like because they never got close enough to my gang but for all my successes on the battlefield I was just fighting fires and folks kept pulling out.

Maybe I'm looking through rose tinted nostalgia glasses but I don't really remember any particular bugs. The last boss fight did had a couple of cheap moments but it certainly doesn't come across as egregiously bad when compared to your average boss fight.

I had to replay several sections, off the top of the mind: monsters keep respawning endlessly, sidekick gets stuck in some impossible place (like halfway through a cliff), death conditions being triggered at the end of a long fight for no reason, and more, to the tune of over 3 hours lost. The game would keep losing focus even though I was playing it in full screen: I'm trying to get a pic of something and BAM got my desktop instead ...a dozen times in a row. Some graphical glitches can only be fixed by activating compatibility options (see Steam forums), but that affects the frame rate negatively and occasionally kills it.

The camera movement often felt crippled (switching to the in-game camera was pretty much necessary), and sometimes it would just go crazy and stick itself into a wall, so I couldn't see what was going on. Maybe proper pad support would have solved many of my many camera-related gripes, who knows? they simply slapped the new textures on a 2003 PC port.

As for the last fight, FTL's boss didn't bother me but the spiderbug at the end here was really a pain - even with my keyboard flipped.

Having some fun with NFS: Most Wanted, which is basically Burnout Paradise with police pursuits so far and consequently makes me very happy.

Playing plenty of Borderlands 2 co-op still, as well. Just finished the Torgue DLC (not bad, not as good as the pirate one) and am now starting True Vault Hunter mode. Games I like enough to play through twice are always nice to find!

    You're doing it co-op, yes?

Full co-op turns it into an EVERYTING ASPLODE bout of gunporn that is just magnificent.

Why on Earth would anyone play a Borderlands game solo? Yeah, obviously playing co-op, though generally only with 2 players. Still a blast, though.

I love playing games with friends. Playing games with strangers is an unpleasant chore, mind you, but playing games with friends is great.

It seems it was a mistake to put this in game,i mean it sounds great on paper, bigger damage leads to bigger challenge, but in reality it fails because game trows so many bad guys at you.
