Valkyria Chronicles (戦場のヴァルキュリア -Gallian Chronicles-) on the PS3. Way too many cut-scenes, clunky Japanese menus, but great fun to play when it puts you on the battlefield.

On the PC front, I'm slowly playing through my first game of Endless Space.

How long did it take you to decide? I played about 35 hours before I decided I liked it. Very odd game. But also good.
Irrelevant on further examination of the rest of the thread.

After three games that were cut short when I realized I'd made a terrible mistake that had totally screwed me.

When I started it felt like I was presented with an almost arbitrarily large degree of choice. After a few games it sort of dawned on me that the extensive tech trees were probably intended to create a lot of possibilities that could easily change depending on faction, what you have available to you on the map, and preference, and that the game was designed heavily around that.

I like the balancing act between adventuring and strategy, and I've slowly been sucked into the lush-dark weirdness of the world.

Bought my first truck in Euro Truck Simulator 2 with a huge loan from the bank. It's a shabby little thing, but damnit it's mine.

Turns out I was only about an hour away from the end in Risen. The final encounter was as anti-climatic as it gets: a silly Zelda-style boss fight complete with tennis sequence. It lasted about five minutes.
At least it's one entry less in the backlog and it's almost reasonably sized now. I guess after Risen, Alan Wake seems like an appropriate title to play.

An assassin tried to kill me in Skyrim on a road near a river. I won. Dragged her corpse to the river and watched it being taken by currents. Then I threw her weapons in the water.
    This is roleplaying.

So you just got free daggers.

And a little extra if you're into necrophilia.

Finished Far cry 3 yesterday and although I had a great time, I hardly think it's game of the year. The developers did a great job there, but they didn't take any risk when making it. They just did a good open world game with all the shticks of the genre, a used settings and a mediocre story with a terrible ending (both of them).

Next on the list: I'll give another go to Shogun 2 and maybe Company of heroes.

Finished up my pacifist run of Mirror's Edge on hard difficulty. Although I think that this playstyle fits the overall theme and gameplay way better than a combat heavy approach, it also accentuates the flaws and more frustrating moments of the game. And of course I got stuck in the very same spot as in my first playthrough.

Still, love the general concept, most of the execution and certainly the art direction. Here's hoping the sequel won't get botched up horribly (of course it will, who am I kidding ...).

Put some music on, set up my steering wheel, and drive around a very-simplified-version-of-Europe in Euro Truck Simulator 2. Oh yes, I'm livin' the life right there.

It *is* the most soothing, relaxing game I've played in a while.

Also playing Danica Patrick? What the Hell & All-Stars Racing Transformed, which is immensely fun, but I'm quite awful at it. Getting the hang of drifting, though.

Wish I had a steering wheel. And a horn, I want to blow the horn.

I'm playing 'trying to decide on a new computer while having very little money' because my laptop's fan died.
Before that I played Minecraft obsessively for five weeks (and I was far from getting tired of it).
