If you want to watch Dota 2 streams and keep up to date with pro games and all that, I suggest www.joindota.com

The way it's designed, you can basically use it as a Dota 2 themed frontend for relevant twitch.tv streams which includes info about matches, tournaments, standings and so on.

I find the same with Company of Heroes multiplayer. Sunday Night Fights makes for pretty good watching, let alone just background noise.

I've wasted quite some time with the new Kerbal Space Program's demo. So far my attempts to get a rocket to orbit Earth (Kerbin?) have not been succesful. However, I have three or four rockets orbiting Sun. So... yeah.

But yeah, mage was a LOT easier in Demon to the point that my most recent run ran out of steam because it was so easy (although, level design and farming was still garbage :p). In Dark Souls terms, Demon's magic was Sorc+Pyro. So for the rare foe who was actually resistant to magic, you just throw some fire. You can do the same thing in Dark Souls, but you have to invest a good amount of souls into your pyromancy flame, so it at least balances out slightly.

Whereas Dark has a few magic resistant enemies AND the DLC is all about unloading huge amounts of physical damage. So a pure mage just isn't viable, at least until you unlock some of the dark magic (which, ironically, is in the DLC :p) because that has physical damage too.

So I decided to try to start GTAIV today as part of my continued attempt to clear my backlog. This game is my first experience with GFWL and I have to ask: who the fuck thought that this was a good idea? The game tried to autosave, but I wasn't logged into Windows Live. So I tried to log in. Then it told me that I needed to update the client before I could sign in. So I did that. Then it tells me that I need to restart the game to apply the update. Except then I lose all my progress because I haven't saved. And I can't save because GFWL wont update until I close the game, destroying all my progress. Seriously? Fuck you, Windows.

No, the overall plot doesn't matter at all. All I remember is that there's some bad dude in armour ripped out of the most awesome rock album cover. The individual quests and shit voice acting are highly entertaining though.

Yeah, the plot of Two Worlds can be summed up as :"There was an evil dude"

I'm busy trying to enjoy The Old Republic now its gone free to play. It seems to suffer the same problems as The Secret World, the story is interesting, but the combat is so un-inspiring I don't think I'll have the patience to see it through.

    Euro Truck Simulator 2

Things I've learned during my brief career as a highway tweaker:

    - There do not appear to be any rules against speeding or failure to signal, but it's a $150 fine to ride the ass of some subcompact car with your brights on
    - Sleeping is not necessary provided you walk outside the truck at least thirty seconds between hauls
    - 99% of UK radio is US music

    - This is what you people call entertainment

Dark Souls - finished it out of stubbornness. Hated it all the way. Achievement unlocked, now out of sight out of mind. I wish I could somehow erase it both from STEAM and from my memory( I heard drinking bleach helps).

Dead Space 2 - too linear and small. First one somehow felt better. Maybe I should jsut skip this one and play the third game.

Jagged Alliance 2 1.13 - again. First I tried to ignore AIM and complete as much of the game as possible with only IMP guy, Ira and Dynamo but got bored shortly after securing Cambria. So I hired four AIM mercs. Now I'm bogged down in all the tedious micromanagement.

Sleeping appears to be directly connected with the truck, not the person. If you don't own a truck, using the ones provided for quick jobs will result in the counter resetting so you'll never have to sleep. You'll also notice no hands on the steering wheel. What I'm trying to say is, you are Optimus Prime.

You only need to worry about sleeping and fuel once you own your own truck and/or have enough ranks in long distance to get the really long trips.

And there definitely are speeding tickets - you really can't go above 50 km/h in cities, or when there is roadwork. Other than that, I think you can only get fined if there's a specific radar warning.

Signalling is not necessary, but if you signal at a crossing, there's a chance that cars crossing in front of you will stop and flash their headlights to let you go. Which is nice.

Would someone please tell me how to enjoy Dawn of War 2? I really, really want to, but the problem is I loved the first and the second is so radically different. I love the universe though and want to appreciate this game. I just got hold of the Gold Edition that comes with Chaos Rising, hopefully this will appeal to me more.

Also, in relation to this, I already had Dawn of War 2, registered to my Steam account a couple of years ago and set to my GFWL account, that's all fine and dandy. Now i've got hold of the Gold Edition which comes with Dawn of War 2 again, and it's expansion, and I used the cd key (which is one key to cover that and the expansion) that came with that to install them, which I registered on my Steam and that all went through fine. So far so good.
Not that it really matters, but i'm guessing Steam now thinks I have two cd keys registered for the same game (my original Dawn of War 2 purchase a couple of years ago and now the Gold Edition)? It shouldn't create any problems should it with Steam or GFWL?

Edit: Boy i'm confused, I think i've confused Steam too. Dawn of War 2, and Dawn of War 2 Chaos Rising both are in my Steam games list now, but both boot up Chaos Rising when I load them. Both give me different CD keys which I apparently need to enter into the game, which I havn't needed to, but the cd key for the 'basic' Dawn of War 2 isn't even the same as my very very original purchase from 2 years ago, so now I essentially have 3 different CD keys!
Ah well, it probably dosn't matter so much as I might not even play them much, but I just like to get these things solved in my head! It looks like what's happened is it's disregarded the cd key from my very original 'basic' game purchase and given me keys for the Gold Edition bundle, which is fine, but Dawn of War 2 is still on my GFWL with the old cd key. It shouldn't be a problem.

Finished operations Beachhead and Skyhook in Mech Commander. We have lost Lynx to a lucky heavy autocannon shot to the cockpit. We've recovered his Catapult completely intact apart from that, what a shame. Salvage has been rather poor when it comes to getting our hands on Superior Clan mechs, we have a Mad Cat, two Cougars and an Uller.Otherwise we're doing fine, no real losses. I've bought another Catapult for more LRMs and a Raven J for maneuvering rough terrain.

First mission in the new operation: Vanguard involves escorting ambulances and there're reports of a Vulture in the area. If I could salvage that...

So... Bought Two Worlds II in a bundle, and I'm enjoying it, for the moment. Horse-riding could be better, though.

You're on to the right thing- the key to enjoying it is not to treat it like a sequel. It's a totally different game. It's about equipping and fielding four elite squads, and trying to coordinate the perfect attack for any given circumstance. I love quibbling over just the right armour piece for my commander, and whether Tarkus should have his best bolter or a flamer for the next mission, and I love drawing Eldar into Avitus' field of fire then jumping my Assaults in to finish them off. It's perfectly OK not to like the game, as it by no means perfect, but just be sure you're judging it on its own merits.

It's also a really fun multiplayer game, but you'd have to play with friends, as I suspect only the hardest of the hardcore are left playing now.

You've just described the way I game all the time. I have the focus of an inebriated gecko. The list of games I ever finish is shockingly short.
