Killing brain cells by alternating the new God of War on the PS3 and Saints Row 3 on the PC.
Grabbed the season pass when it was free from THQ (pre-order deal, if memory serves) but never got around to playing through them, so I went back to the char I restarted a few months back. Of course, I restarted that char to do all the assassinations and vehicle thefts before endgame, so I could be a while :p.
As for God of War: Ascension. When it is fun, I love it. But mostly, I am just finding myself annoyed by puzzles and thinking the devs screwed up combat. To me, God of War was always the kind of spectacle fighter where you just spam combos of square and triangle to kill the crap out of stuff. The strategy was in positioning yourself and managing the mobs. Ascensions feels like a middle ground in that it is trying to tap into the Devil May Cry "You need to actually learn the combos and timing" while still sticking to the hordes and zoomed out camera. End result is I find myself getting repeatedly sodomized because I can't tell which blob is Kratos or by the enemies who all seem to get timed immunity.
But when it is fun, holy crap it is fun.Steam: Gundato

If it is the end of the game the only possible way I was able to beat that after many attempts (spoilers but I think this is important to know or you won't be able to do it without loads of skill):
The last part is three bosses in a row with no saving in between. You need an item called "heart in a jar" or something, whatever it is called it refills all your health in one use. I can't remember where you get this item but it is near the start. I hope you haven't used it already!
Defeat the first two bosses (should be easy enough with practice) and then use your heart jar to refill the rest of your health and go and fight the final boss. I was dying over and over for hours on end until I remembered about that item and defeated the final boss in one go.

Heavily playing Battlefield 3, latest DLC is enjoyable but perhaps lacking the final 'punch' I was expecting.
Replaying Bioshock 2, (harder than I remember) in preparation for an article to write.
Far Cry 3 (still) from from Xmas.
A few other things on the slow burner, but that's the main ones.

Might & Magic 8 is slowly coming to an end. I now see why it's probably the weakest of the M&M series, not counting the ninth and final game. It does feel much smaller than the similar previous two games but the gameplay is still mostly identical. However, the main problem is the absurd amount of enemies. It's difficult to describe but if you walk to a dungeon from a town and you fight on your way about ten times as many enemies as are in the dungeon itself, it quickly becomes not only ridiculous but also very tiresome. Doesn't help that AoE spells in this game are all either terrible, expensive or unreliable.
Now, towards the end, I decided to clean out the main dragon cave in Garrote Gorge and it looks this when I approach
and roughly fifty dragons later and I can actually enter the cave, only to be greeted by
Just about every dungeon is like this and it's really not that interesting. The pacing suffers severely from it. If I had to guess, I'd say that the purpose of this game was to generate some fast cash because of NWC/3DO's financial troubles at the time. It did not end well.

As far as I remember to block incoming attacks you just hold the button. Some attacks from some enemies can't be blocked. To counter you have to press the block button at the right time, which I've found it just after the swing starts.
It's possible that on Apocalypse difficulty that you can't just block attacks. Personally I found dashing around and dodging from the attacks is a better idea than trying to block or counter. Dodge out and then use the spear charge ability to get back in once they've finished their attack."Halo is designed to make the player think "I look like that, I am macho sitting in my undies with my xbox""

I lost my fortress to a goblin siege! YAY, FUN! Now time to reclaim it and it seems that the goblin scum are friendly. Heck, even their war cave dragons are. Killing them is tempting but I suppose I'll let them choke on the the drifting ash if there are anyone outside first. Last time I did that a goblin swordmaster killed my militia dead and the marksdwarves are stupid enough to get in close proximity for it to kill them. I'm still figuring out how to kill them all by drowning the caverns with magma. Oh, that'll be fucking sweet.
I also spent some time in RCT 2, trying to breach the 4500 guests mark in Extreme Heights. It seems that some of my rollercoasters get a 0% satisfaction despite having an exitement rating of 9. I'm not sure what's going on here.
