Why finish a game you can condense down to that? If I'm not enjoying a game, I stop playing it.

    There's no cosmic achievement/completion meter y'know ;)

A lot of games start slow only to get better or are worth playing for the experience.

That being said: I did have the feeling of "Wow, Jade Empire sucks" and stopped playing. So I am awesome :p

I got that feeling sometime during the intro sequence. Maybe I'm being unfair.

I do believe that's true. It's just that I didn't realize at first that it was a bad thing. I liked the first and haven't encountered any actual changes in Riptide, but I can't stand it. Either I somehow burned out on the concept during my months long hiatus, or I just didn't realize that I didn't like the first one. I'm confused.

Same. Which sucks, since I really wanted to like it. The setting was unique enough to keep me playing for hours after I gave up on the game. Now I'm just angry at it for wasting so much of my time.

You'll need to run out quickly to avoid his massive area of effect attack though. Once you beat him though, that's the end of the DLC.
Ahh, that did the trick. Thanks for the advice. Still pretty crazy that one bundle of C4 does about four times as much damage as a direct hit from a cannonball. Also, did you know you can charge the cannonball shots? I didn't until I used it against this boss. It was actually much easier to fight him up close because he stops shooting at you to charge the hammer attack.

Well, that's Serious Sam wrapped up. I wonder what I'll do next?

I had great fun playing jade empire, even though I never returned to it and never felt the need to.

Right now I am playing FEZ. finally.
Phil Fish will never be in community management, but he did make a jolly good game! great music, great visuals, wonderfully designed world. It's like an indie Batman: Another Clone.

Some of the bigger enemies in SS3 you can run up to and place C4 on for quicker damage/instant kills. The smaller enemies the boss is based on are just one example. Yeah, cannon has always been chargeable. Does a bit more damage and gets more distance.

As for what next, I don't know, but I can guarantee you it'll almost certainly be calmer. Unless it's 16 player co-op.

Guess I had trouble believing a pre-Dragon Age II Bioware game was this bad!

Well, it's not going to be EYE: Divine Cybermancy because I can't find my saved game and it has a weird bug going on where it reinitialises the game every five seconds. It's not going to be Hard Reset, because its anti-backtracking barriers piss me off when I'm trying to find all the secrets.

    Maybe Quake 1.

I played the demo for Hard Reset coming off the back of First Encounter and whilst I loved the environmental design and the gun-play, the movement was waaaaay off what I thought it should've been. You felt way too slow. Whilst I've had my eye on the purchase button when it's been on sale since then, I think I'm always happy that I don't buy it because I know that I'll most likely just be disappointed by it. It's not that I don't get that different games have different rules, but SS really seems to nail that chaotic fire-fight and movement is such a massive part of it.

I loved Jade Empire. I especially liked the bit where the celestial bureaucracy is mad at you for making everything so damn complicated for them.

...now I want to play it again.

In hindsight, Jade Empire's plot was utterly daft. It was so ludicrous but I loved the setting and the way it was presented and I especially loved how full of life the cities seemed to be.

Such a shame the combat system was painfully shallow.

Taking break from BG2. Just got into Mindflyers lair in Underdark.

I can either choose Witcher 1 so i can finish it before i upgrade my computer and can play TW2 (i beat first one before but lost the save) Already on chapter 3 but last time i played it was in 2011.
    Start Missing Link
    Try to finish anarchronox
    Play more of F:NV
    or finally install Psychonauts....

    don't know what to choose.

eh. first world problems are so tiring.

"Finished" Dark souls (I still had two bosses of the DLC to down but couldn't go back). Took me 60 hours. I guess I am slow.

I escaped the prison in Mars: war logs. Heard the game is quite short.

After four months of constant Minecraft I've now switched over to obsessively playing World of Tanks instead (mainly because it, unlike Minecraft, keeps me from thinking). I think I've played some 400 rounds this week. It kind of surprises me that I enjoy it, actually. I didn't play at all between version 7.5 and 8.5, so there's been a lot of changes and they all seem quite good. Physics is the major one, of course, and very nice.
The only MP game I've played, other than Minecraft, was Battlefield 1942 and part of what kept me playing that was the people I played with, but in WoT you play with randoms every round, so it's very different. In a way it feels like SP, but with real people (which doesn't make much sense, but...), and that seems to work quite well too.

Finally got my SU-8, which does nice damage, but is big as a house so impossible to hide on some maps. Got the Leopard too, which is interesting and sort of fun, but not much good against those tier 9s you sometimes get up against and it's really not fast enough to be a good scout (and it always gets hit in the engine, so you're even more screwed).
Next is a Hellcat, but I'm trying to decide what to sell off to free up a garage slot for it.

Started playing Blood Dragon. I like it so far, except some of the weapons. I dunno what it is about them. You're given this big huge Robocop looking pistol at the start, expecting it to sound awesome and vaporize the enemy. Instead of it sounding all PEW PEW PEW, it sounds pewpew.

And they feel kinda weak too. The shotgun so far is the only weapon that sounds great when you fire it and gives you a warm feeling inside when you gun some cyberpunk down.

    Also, needs more explosions.

God, Serious Sam is just that Bill Hicks sketch over and over again.

    "Pick it up."
"I don't wanna pick it up mister, you'll shoot me."
    "Pick up the gun."
"Mister, I don't want no trouble..."
    "Pick up the gun."
    *fwoom fwoom*
"You all saw him. He had a gun."

Only instead of getting shot, the sun is eclipsed with Headless Kamikaze, Kleer Fuckfaces and those god-damned toads.

Also, enemies should not be provided hitscan weapons. If I get hit and die, I want it to be because I suck, not because I literally can't dodge the bullets.
