Legend of Grimrock error message, please help

Hi, I've just downloaded & installed Grimrock, tried launching but got this message:

The procedure entry point
??1critical_section@Concurrency@@QAE@XZ could not be located in the dynamic link library MSVCR100dll

What does that mean?
How can I rectify this?

Try reinstalling if you haven't already done so.

It sounds like "DLL Hell", where Windows loads the wrong version of some library and it doesn't quite match what the application wants.

Did the install do the.. install of the Visual C++ Redistributable?

What OS are you running?

Grimrock doesn't install DirectX, but requires it. See if you can manually grab DirectX and make sure your graphic card drivers are up to snatch.
