The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition has gone live

In additon to more than 4 hours of extra gameplay, improved graphics, new characters, locations, quests, 36 minutes of new cinematics, GOG.com has added the Witcher comic book, new game map, game guide, manual, and soundtrack to your free goodies list, simply because we love you.

If you own a copy of TW2 anywhere else than GOG, you can get a free Backup copy of the Enhanced Version here:

Several people have reported issues with corrupted files from the EE patch installer, according to this thread. Apparently manually downloading the part 1 & 2 files from here and replacing the one downloaded by the pre-patcher solved the issues for some.

Steam version is fucked for me, pre-EE at least. Overlay won't work. I'm gonna redeem on GOG and re-download from there, I hear the overlay works with that version. Unless this EE fixes the overlay.

That isn't in the slightest what is supposed to happen here - this isn't a free game giveaway, this is the devs giving people who bought the game through other services the chance to download a DRM-free version (in case they ever have issues with the DRM on whatever service they bought the game on).

This is not an invitation to start gifting or trading your keys so that people can get the game for free - CDPR are being good to their customers here, let's return the sentiment and not abuse the fuck out of it!

My pre-load files were corrupted guess that was 10GB for nothing, hopefully the full install from GOG will work better now I have a digital backup

I too installed the EE patch. The preload patch was botched but thanks to Wolfenswan I got it working.

I just went through the changelog, but unfortunately it doesn't tell you where the new content is hidden. Chapter 3 has been expanded, but is there anything in earlier chapters? I currently have a savegame mid-game (chapter 2) and would like to know if a restart would be in order so as not to miss anything new.

The only one I know for sure is the Troll mission which is in the jungle chapter.

Does anybody know if performance has increased on low end systems? I played through the Witcher 2 twice last year on my dual core 6000+ with a geforce gts 250 and I missed out on all the fancy eye candy. You'd think if they got it to run well on the X-Box then perhaps those of us with slow systems might reap the benefits.

Troll Trouble was added 'properly' to all games along with the pre-order DLC a few weeks/months post-release.
