Couldn't see another thread dedicated to this.

Has anyone tried this? It claims free games with advertising. It's not currently out in the UK so I haven't been able to try it yet.

I was in the beta but apparently I'm not allowed to use it anymore until it's released in the UK.

This is what got me looking into it. I'm pretty much incapable of not pirating things, but I would happily switch over to a free but with ads model. If the ads weren't very annoying that is.

I tried it. I just get a "Buffering video..." screen indefinitely. Not really impressed.

I could probably add more to the discussion if I'd actually used it. There wasn't anything in the beta that I wanted to play but didn't already own. It has potential as a platform provided they can get some bigger name games, and make enough money from the ads for it to be sustainable.

I have Starpoint Gemini plunked in my slot. Haven't tried it out yet. Neato spiffy idea, though.

Liked the idea when I first heared about it. But as with every new service: it will take aaaaaages until it's available in Germany. If we get it at all. I highly doubt we ever will. Just as with Netflix and others.

For everyone not in America or Canada: just enter gamersgate through a webproxy, activate the VOID service and that's it. You can now access it no matter where you are (you only need to use the proxy to activate the service, then it'll work without it)

In the beta there was an annoying thing. If you actually clicked the video ad (which helps GamersGate), you'd be taken to a web page and the game wouldn't load. Then, when launching the game again, you'd get the entire video ad again (which punishes you).

Anyone know if this has changed? Haven't tried since the official launch.
