Shipping Developers and Franchises
It seems there are certain franchises and developers that are just made for each other. Either they share a common influence or the developer has clearly been working the same area or maybe you just think their approach to games is a perfect for another franchise.
So which pairings would you like to see?
For me I'd love Frictional to work on an X-Files game. A first person investigate em that sees you slowly progress from investigating a murder to finding the threads of a government conspiracy. The potential for insanity effects whilst playing an ultra paranoid conspiracy nut are immense and there are plenty of bogey men (both humanoid and the other kind) in the series to provide the chases they do so well. Most of all though I want a real detective game, where you have to investigate the scene in the Amnesia/Penumbra style dusting for prints and prying up floor boards not simply waiting to find a hotspot like LA Noire. You could even perform autopsies and play pathologist as you look for causes of death and end up finding a metal plate behind their heart or something. Right now I think Frictional are the only people really trying new things in first person games and that is really kind of sad.

Not sure what "shipping" has to do with it but I think I get the plot.
I think Telltale Games are at their best with humor and surreal settings. They'd make a kick-butt Adventure Time game series. I could imagine a beat-em-up developed by someone else, but a lot of Adventure Time revolves around questing and strange items and artifacts and dialogue. That's more, well, adventure game fare. The rainbowy strangeness of Sam & Max and the faithful cartoon shading of the Strongbad games prove that Telltale could faithfully pull off a game version of Adventure Time.

The devs from GSC (or were) did made Metro 2033 which was quite a well-known novel in Russia. I'm not sure what Obsidian would be perfect with (although they've worked on Star Wars and recently, South Park)

Crusader Kings is just begging for a Game of Thrones mod. Would love to see CK go into more fantastical settings, imagine playing as an Orc lord marrying into the human royal family or the political machinatios you could build up around summoning demons. A pairing of CK2 with Fall From Heaven would be close to being a dream game for me.
can consult this.
On that topic I just found out Hasbro also owns the rights to both D&D and Ponies. Now that is a pairing that has to happen.
