Nah, RE5 you need to watch LAG TV play. Honestly, it's terrible even to watch if not funny remarks.
Hear from the spirit-world this mystery:
Creation is summed up, O man, in thee;
Angel and demon, man and beast art thou,
Yea, thou art all thou dost appear to be!
Oldschool RE fans seem to hate RE4 because it's not a horror game (true) and CODbros seem to hate it because its controls suck for running, gunning and twitching (true).
I love it. Fantastic game, I really should buy it and play from beginning to end sometime. I have only played bits and pieces of it on friends' consoles.
There seems is HD release for RE4

Who else here played Gitaroo Man? I would call that a pretty worthwhile Eastern game.
The Jet Set Radio classics are good too. They have been recently announced for PC on Steam, but I can't attest to the port quality as I only played em back when I had the Dreamcast.
Also Oni (Bungie) & Shogo (Monolith), while not eastern are worth a shot if you are interested in looking for anime-style aesthetics rather than "eastern made" gameplay. Bear in mind that they are quite old, tho.

Wait, JSR HD is out? I thought it was just in production.
Oh, my bad. I wanted to say announced rather than released.
The Touhou games are notable for being one of only three franchises to have more fan made pornography and shipping than even My Little Pony.
On topic:
It's a real bug bear of mine that the indie PC never took off in Japan. There are some fantastic designers there but they all end up sucked up into the big companies and release on region locked consoles.

I own two Touhous and still don't feel like playing them. They are barren in comparison to pretty much any arcade shooters. Recent console ports and/or MAME is the way to go with shooters.
There are a handful of free Japanese indie shooters on PC worth checking out though... Tumiki Fighters, Every Extend.
JSR HD is hardly an RPG, though. It IS fantastic, and japanese, but not an RPG.
man, shogo was amazing.
one of the better games from my childhood.
Seconded. Great music game of the sort that has been abandoned in favor of Guitar Hero and Just Dance. Absolutely worth playing on PS2.
The same developers made Elite Beat Agents for the DS, which is in my top 10 games of all time, anywhere. Must play. Kept my wife up all night playing, as much as she wants to tell herself she doesn't like video games. Has charm, comedy, and fantastic gameplay that will make you enjoy songs you normally hate... and may even touch your heart.
If you have a DS, please play Elite Beat Agents.
oh, i would be remiss if i didn't mention the single most important game to ever emerge out of japan: bust a groove 2.
That one is more of an adaptation "port" than an original thing. Nintendo comisioned em to adapt Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan and Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii: Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 to the western market. I love both the adaptation and the former (but if I had to choose, I would go for the original games).
If you don't mind losing a bit on the story side do give the japanese games a playthru, they are hilarious and bizarre... not to mention the story is quite straightforward and you can guess most of it anyways.
Oh man, Bust A Groove and Gitaroo Man, good memories.
Burning Ranges is a good unique game.
I barely played anything else other than Lumines and Monster Hunter in my PSP. Anyone's a fan of simple puzzlers and music games would greatly appreciate the former. As for the latter, I don't think I have to explain much. Challenging and incredibly satisfying. Best played with friends
Bah! My blog is fulla bollox! What? Don't believe me?Here! Just look at it!
Speaking of Elite Beat Agents, theres a pc fan version with all the copyright infringement you would imagine.
Also it has Queen
