Hm, no. We hoped we'll have a little girl but it didn't work out.
So obviously Bioshock 2's story resonated with me... The good ending was devastating. It's a very touching game despite some early missteps (I hated how it forced you to stop and listen to Eleanor). One thing I appreciated was the new Little Sisters design - changed from repulsive frogs to a pretty little creature. I felt compelled to save them and harvesting was horrible, whereas in Bioshock 1 I just saw them as the "gatherers" they were originally intended to be. They had no emotional impact.
On top of that Bioshock 2 was some of the best fun I've had since Undying. More games shoud feature dual-wielding of spells and weapons.
Note: I consider Bioshock a pretty good game but nowhere near my favorite game. I just like filling out stuff.
1. What was your first FPS game?
I don't really know. Wolfenstein 3d probably, but it might have been Blake Stone. I can't remember which order I played them in.
2. Have you played most of the following: Quake, Unreal, Alien versus Predator, Operation Flashpoint, Rainbow Six, Deus Ex, No One Lives Forever, Thief, S.T.A.L.K.E.R, FEAR, The Void, Metro 2033?
Played them all. Extensively so, except for The Void which I haven't finished. Need to go back t to it.
3. Have you played (= completed at least once) System Shock 2?
Never finished it no, much to my eternal shame. My HDD died on me and I lost the saves. I should reinstall it and give it another go.
4. Do you play the majority of your FPS games on a PC or consoles?
PC. Always have.
Think the only FPS I've played on console were Killzone 2 and WH40 Fire Trooper or something like that. Both of which were a bit shit.
5. Pick one of each if you've played both:
Morrowind or Oblivion.
Morrowind or Skyrim.
Half Life 2 or S.T.A.L.K.E.R (That one was tricky.)
Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas. (That was easy on the other hand.)
Dostoyevsky or Joyce.
6. Do you play any "difficult genres" like grand strategies or flight sims?
Yes. Plenty of grand strategy on my plate. Flight sims more rarely as pickings are slim. Did a lot of them in the 90s though.

Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory since 1982.
I'm failing to writing a blog, specifically about playing games the wrong way

Quite amusing how many people bend their views just to fit in the requirements to fill the survey. OP specified that he's interested in opinion of people who thought Bioshock was one of the best games ever, not of the people who though it was ok.

I used to read your posts in Charles Dance's voice and be slightly intimidated, but then I saw this.
Greatest games of all time is a bit far to go for Bioshock... but I will say I am a big fan. It's atmosphere was the strongest thing for me. It felt like you were sort of exploring Kubrick's The Shining/Overlook Hotel, everyone gone flippin' crazy.... underwater... pretty awesome I thought.
1. What was your first FPS game?
I played a little Wolfenstein 3D... but I think Redneck Rampage was the first shooter that I played significantly. I totally missed the Doom parade.
2. Have you played most of the following: Quake, Unreal, Alien versus Predator, Operation Flashpoint, Rainbow Six, Deus Ex, No One Lives Forever, Thief, S.T.A.L.K.E.R, FEAR, The Void, Metro 2033?
Played Unreal (good), Deus Ex (played 1st time only last year, got bored after a while), No One Lives Forever (loved), S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (Bounced off it), FEAR (loved), Metro 2033 (ok, only began it, will go back at some point)
3. Have you played (= completed at least once) System Shock 2?
No
4. Do you play the majority of your FPS games on a PC or consoles?
PC
5. Pick one of each if you've played both:
Morrowind or Oblivion. (haven't played Morrowind)
Morrowind or Skyrim.
Half Life 2 or S.T.A.L.K.E.R -- Half-Life 2
Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas.-- Fallout: New Vegas
Dostoyevsky or Joyce.-- Dostoyevsky
6. Do you play any "difficult genres" like grand strategies or flight sims?
yes grand strategies, no flight sims
Thanks!

Everything except The Void. Didn't finish FEAR or Metro 2033.
3. Have you played (= completed at least once) System Shock 2?
Played yes, completed no.
4. Do you play the majority of your FPS games on a PC or consoles?
PC only for fps games.
5. Pick one of each if you've played both:
Morrowind or Oblivion.
Morrowind or Skyrim.
Half Life 2 or S.T.A.L.K.E.R
Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas.
6. Do you play any "difficult genres" like grand strategies or flight sims?
Simulation games are not difficult because they follow real world rules, arcade games are hard. So the answer is yes, I especially prefer sim racing. Some arcade racers are damn hard because they are so unpredictable, sim racing is much more enjoyable overall.
OKFINE I'll take the survey. I never played Bioshock, as I've mentioned, but I'm like sosuperboredrightnow.
1. What was your first FPS game?
Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear BUNX NO XING NO MID K?
2. Have you played most of the following: Quake, Unreal, Alien versus Predator, Operation Flashpoint, Rainbow Six, Deus Ex, No One Lives Forever, Thief, S.T.A.L.K.E.R, FEAR, The Void, Metro 2033?
Noooooooooo (about half)
3. Have you played (= completed at least once) System Shock 2?
Noooooooo
4. Do you play the majority of your FPS games on a PC or consoles?
Yessssssss
5. Pick one of each if you've played both:
Does this mean to pick which one is best? I will assume it means that.
I pick Skyrim and Half-life 2 (I would pick STALKER if it wasn't so creepy, I stopped when I got to that enemy that pauses the game and makes the camera zoom in on its horrible face while it kills you with invisible weirdness from a distance)
6. Do you play any "difficult genres" like grand strategies or flight sims?
I am slowly playing through Wizardry VI!
Wot I Think: The Game : an ongoing collaborative game-design experiment / comedic disaster here on the RPS Forums!
Kata vs. Kata : a game of simultaneous round-based predictive martial arts (like frozen synapse, but with punches)
My Games on Kongregate : "computainments" for your world wide web experience
1. Half-Life
2. Yep
3. Nope
4. Never had a console
5. Morrowind, S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Read 'Ulysses' but never understood it
6. Sometimes
I answered all the questions. Now what kind of a person am I? ;)
I liked Bioshock by the way. Especially the setting and the totally insane characters in it. Like that plastic surgeon who thought he could do with the flesh what Picasso did with color on a canvas.
1. Wolfenstein/doom
2. Yes
3. No
4. PC
5. Halflife 2
not played both of the other pairs
& i think that Charles Dickens or H. P. Lovecraft is a more likely match for this crowd than Dostoyevsky or Joyce.
6. do Civ X or total war count as grand strategies?
Since I dont think Bioshock was the best game ever I wont fill in the full thing.
Reminded me that my first FPS was Gloom on the Amiga though, and that was fun.
