I just stumbled on the most best web game: Reprisal

Basically, it's Populous made in Flash, playable in browser. And it's as great as nearly 20 years ago :) I just lost an hour in a blink... I had to share this, I mean what if I'm the only one who saw the game!

I am tempted to buy Populous from GOG, but I hear 2 is just better in all respects, is this 1 or 2?

I like Reprisal a lot too; I never played Populous, but Reprisal was briefly very popular amongst the Berzees (briefly because it being an unfinished game there are only a few levels). I check back in on it every once and again =)
