I love re-logging in every five minutes, but...
Is there a way of avoiding having to re-log in so often? I tend to write longer responses, often looking up citations and references as I go. Then I have to log-in despite already having done so 15 minutes prior, or I have to refresh the page and log-in, and I tend to copy-past over to Word just so I won't lose what I've spent time writing...it happens on multiple computers and browsers, so I imagine it's something with the site rather than my settings, but perhaps I'm wrong.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a way to correct for it? Thank you!

Staying logged in works fine here for the forums; for the site it's different, sometimes I stay logged in for days, sometimes not.
Have you tried removing all RPS cookies and made sure you accept cookies in the first place?

I just experienced the same issue Basilicus describes. And my cookies (biscuits?) are all mixed up anyway because my password is different for the frontpage then for the forum, but my username isn't. My Firefox doesn't understand...

If I click the "Remember Me" box I stay logged in as long as I don't close my browser. If I don't click the box I get logged out fairly soon, even when still reading the forums.
I have my browser set to delete cookies when it's closed, so that probably has an effect on what happens then.

I use Chrome, and mine stays logged in normally. Every month or two it logs me out, but I think nearly everything does that - a security feature perhaps, or does Chrome auto-clear its cookies every now and then?

I get it all the time on the main website, and really don't know how to fix it.

Not sure about the main website, you should stay logged into that, but I've extended the session timer on the forum significantly.
