Animated Shorts Thread

Let's talk about animated shorts here, gentlemen. There's something about animated shorts that just fascinates me. The animation quality? The idea? Story? How it's presented? I don't know but whether it's in 2D or 3D doesn't matter as long as the content itself is brilliant to watch. But, I'll keep this intro, err... short.

So, I'll be posting a few shorts for now. First up: An Anthony F. Schepperd short for Blockhead's The Music Scene


Full on weird. But I just love how fluid the animations are in this one. With all the weird stuff going on here, it's pretty hard to look away, imo

Next up: Prelude to Eden by Michel Gagne


This one's from way back in 1995, traditionally animated. All restored by Gagne to HD. A coupla aliens are fighting for some reason but hey, at least the action is great.

Now here's one of my personal favourites: Le Royaume

It's a simple story about a lost king who wanted a castle built by a beaver. Beautifully animated.

Now for a little eastern animation. Kung Fu Cooking Girls by Jin Roh and Clover Xei (if I'm not mistaken)

Loving the aesthetics, there. Some ups and downs but still good

My god, it's hard to find a full one for this short but here it is! Dimension Bomb by Koji Morimoto

And how could we forget about this one?

Yeah, it's supposed to be shorter (this video is actually a few episodes combined). Still, this is a reason why Tartakovsky is great, even with Star Wars.

This is the perfect thread to prop up John Kricfalusi's indie cartoon project. He's an animator that gets better with every passing year. A cartoon with no publisher or network is guaranteed to be super gross.

This has pretty damn awesome animation and general feel. I just wonder how the boy managed to get down there before the girl. (also, this will be all the vids for now, honest!)

Not much of a fan of his humour but his art and animation, on the other hand, is what I like most about. I'm not sure how this project would go, though.
