How do you access the console in game though?

I was wondering if there was a way to merge all the video files... what's an easy program? I could probably make that all one video.

I had this game last night: http://dotabuff.com/matches/622950727 I still think hes broken beyond belief, I just don't get how he's likely to get nerfed without ruining him completely which is a thing IceFrog seems to be reluctant to do.
I was casually browsing the hero chart to see if that statement fits (Considering how often its stated) and it really does. Although Troll Warlord has magically dodged this rule.

It never ceases to amaze how viable most of the pool is.

Yeh and tbh I think that's a great thing, having a varied pool of heroes keeps everything nice and fresh. I just think he should acknowledge Embers brokenness at the mo and take him out of cpt's mode.

    ^Nice game

And yea I think Ember is too cheap... I don't know why they think his "attack everyone omnislash-equivalent-even-though-it's-a-regular-ability every 5 seconds" thing is a good idea.

Cool thanks bud, I will try these out. I used Windows Movie Maker for the one I just made, came out quite well, but I'll look at those programs too

    For new page:

Sighsss, embeds don't work in this forum, only in the regular PC section? That is lameeeee.

Edit - I think the funniest thing about the game is actually I played with the last 3 people on the Sentinel team the game before, and ended up facing them during this game, and two of those guys were in my lane :P

They played much better the previous game, but it wasn't against me I guess, and I was Mirana both games hehe XD

Anyway, I put all those small videos into one thanks to Windows Movie Maker yay and there is the final cut up there :P

First time I edited a video with that many parts, and first time I made a Dota 2 video

Deleted most of the other ones included in this video, except for these two other pretty nice shots with Mirana

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8x6POgek0LE <-- the early game Sacred Arrow PA shot

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ry5wOx8LQoQ <-- a later game Sacred Arrow shot on banshee

Edit - this was the game it was from, solo matchmaking, happy to get reasonable teammates twice in a row... though the ones I played with first didn't seem very good when I played against them :P

I happened to load up Twitch on a random urge and found myself watching that game live. It was like a divine appointment. Highly recommended match.

Also, I am in another slump and feel like uninstalling. This game.

If you're in a slump, just ignore the game for a day or two, then play again. You'll usually do better.

    Haha thanks

She's become my favourite hero for sure, I've been playing pretty well with her (I think), but still on a losing streak sadly :P

Edit - Apparently Dota thinks it's super funny to put Ember players in solo ranked matchmaking who forest the whole game, don't teamfight, and then somehow die more than the entire team...

I'm still several percentage points below 50 in terms of win/loss, but my enjoyment of the game picked up after a few weekend RPS parties.

Yep we had some good games

Also thanks for the console command stuff, I used the dota_camera_distance X command, works very well, next time I record something I'll use that

If anyone else uses a Logitech G15 keyboard, I use the following to bind the G3 & 4 keys to the top/bot rune spots:

    alias centerhero "+dota_camera_follow; -dota_camera_follow; +dota_camera_follow; -dota_camera_follow;"alias +toprune "dota_camera_setpos -2273 1232 982"
    alias +botrune "dota_camera_setpos 3035 -2972 966"
    alias -toprune centerhero
    alias -botrune centerhero
    bind o +toprune
    bind p +botrune
O and P are the keystrokes my G3 & 4 keys are bound to, respectively. This bind gives me buttons to toggle to check runes, rather than moving the map and having to re-position or double-tap f1. I bound other keys to toggle check the fountains, too.

TI4 Qualifiers have breathed some life into the guild chat. So, we've got that going for us ... which is nice.

How would you guys feel if I made a RPS guild highlights video every month?

I've kind of gotten interested in recording gameplay, but usually I don't know what game to record.

If people have awesome highlights from guild matching games or even solo games of themselves, I could try to rustle some stuff up together and make a video every now and then. Monthly doesn't seem too harsh.

The only thing would be I would need the replay files for games people would want to put in.

My games have been going better lately, but I doubt I have anything worth making a highlight reel.

In an odd way, I think watching TI qualifiers [slightly] improves my gameplay.

I'm not too sure about that. Whenever I watch a top play or headshot video or whatever I feel like "I can do that, too!" and play and get crushed by reality.

Oh, I'm not emulating pro plays. That would probably end badly.

I think it's more than watching pros helps reinforce fundamentals, positioning, etc. I am also thinking more about how to respond to laning and situations as the game progresses. I'm still scrub tier, but hey... I'm playing better lately.

Highly recommend enabling console and using the dota_camera_distance 1550 command. Feel free to play around with the number but things become wonky after 1800 height. Did you know there's a bird flying around way way up?!?!

It positions the camera nice and high and you get to see proper positioning and movements without fighting with the fucking camera. Works for both DotaTV and replays. I just don't fucking understand why that godawful WC3 3/4th shitty ass zoom hasn't been abandoned yet and a proper mousewheel in/out zoom hasn't been implemented. Valve and icefrog can be so obtuse sometimes!

It's a gameplay thing I think brought from way back when, balancing for War 3 also I think. Wouldn't be fair if some players could see more than others.

WarCraft 3 used to stretch also, so you couldn't even get advantage with aspect ratio no matter what you did (I can't even remember if 4:3 or 16:9 or 16:10 aspect gives more viewing in Dota 2 or not).

Even the thing with the "zoom" not self correcting when you quickly move from a high/low point to another elevation, that is a War3 thing as well.
