Great Game Trailers

Most games these days have trailers. Some of them are great. This is the thread for those.

You can define 'great' any way you wish: intro cinematics vs. original content, representative of the game or otherwise, gameplay footage vs. target renders vs. CGI, all that stuff is your call.

A few to start us off with:


Alien eat your heart out.


The first minute is skippable. The reversal/retraction of the drill makes me wince every time.


Love the music. There's another one out there set to 'Barra Barra' which is pretty awesome too.

For me, it's all about sci-fi games with a 2 in the title.

Also, my favourite ones were the Eve trailers before they started the boring CGI.

Love the Serious Sam HD, GTA IV and Assassin's Creed trailers. The latter reminds me of some of the great trailers that came out recently for Witcher 2, probably the best of which was "Hope":

Blizzard's oeuvre is generally top-shelf, but amongst it I'd have to go with the trailer/cinematic for the original World of Warcraft:

While Borderlands ended up being a solid shooter, I'll always miss the game that was hinted in its initial trailer. I admire this for its simple construction and presentation of a truly alien world I would like to have seen:
