"You take the Klingon's detached hand"
Need to rez this thread. I was about to make a new one called Clockwork Empire since this thread's name is kind of obsolete.
This game is probably my most anticipated of the year. Reading this 4 page interview a few weeks ago really made my hype level hit the ceiling.

I believe the interview was already linked, but tis' certainly a thread worth necroing. I've been following their blog from time to time, they've got some interesting posts there. Im fairly optimistic about this game because from all I've read I got the feeling that they're able to separate 'things that sound cool' and 'things that sound cool and will actually be fun'. So I'm looking forward to it, whenever it comes out.
The development seems to progress and they keep posting about it so I thought I'd resurrect the thread. This post in particular looks interesting as it provides an insight into their way of thinking. I especially liked this from the comments:
I'd say that's great news as I really didn't want it to become a micromanagement monstrosity. The problem with introducing any of this level of control is that if it allows a player to optimize, then the player *must* optimize and will then destroy their gameplay experience because they will be compelled to do a bunch of tedious equipment shuffling. So we’re super wary of anything like this. See: http://www.designer-notes.com/?p=369.
