I've only just started playing this game. I've been on a west coast server, because my brother (who lives in Korea) plays there. Whats the pseudo name of EU 1? When i look at the list they all have names rather than numbers. When i work out which sever i'll create a character (probably be close to my user name here) and join in.

May I ask a question here? I'm trying to get at least familiar enough with Planetside 2 to join one of the RPS outings, but I'm having one bit of trouble at the moment: I can't easily determine the enemy. Everybody looks pretty much the same, so I'm not always sure who to kill.

Is there a setting where I can make it easier to determine who's who?

I've set up mumble, I've learned some basic mechanics and have watches the training vids, but I still have trouble knowing the enemy.

Please pardon me if this question is inappropriate for this thread.

also there isnt really any other way you can tell the enemy they dont have blue arrows over head shoot at you (but then again so do freindlys) but if someone spots them there red arrow is over head

Unfortunately there isn't, however if they don't have a blue icon over their head, they're an enemy. Look at them and press Q (you may need to aim) to tag enemies with a red icon (it has no effect on friendlies).

Spotting with Q is somewhat glitchy in general - sometimes you need to do it multiple times, sometimes friendly icons don't show up at range. But it's helpful.

If it's any consolation, after a while, you do start to get used to distinguishing between the factions on sight, and even some classes. It gets easier, but just takes time.

It's actually quite easy. When you shoot them, if they don't start playing that annoying sound, when firing upon a friendly, then it's ok to shoot.
