As I've not been for awhile, what sort of time to folks tend to turn up?

Hello! A friend and I are hoping to come tomorrow, and especially to play board games. About what time do board game players tend to turn up? Thanks.

Usually from 7ish or 8ish that people show up.

We do sometimes get people going earlier for boardgaming, but a good bet is for around 7ish that people tend to start showing up.

In the spirit of one-ups-manship; how many of the expansions do you have? Cause I can bring along Cosmic Encounter with all of them.

Other options are Tsuro, Elder Sign, Shadows Over Camelot, Libertalia, Legendary, and heaps of other smaller ones. (Reminder to self, bring Coup)

Ooh, Elder Sign, that's a lot of fun. I'd usually bring The Resistance myself, but if MalkContent is bringing Avalon, I probably won't bother. I could bring Munchkin and Citadels, if those are good choices?

Only Cosmic Invasion with the reward deck, so if you want to alleviate me from bringing it it'd be cool.

I'll bring Cosmic Encounter then, along with Coup and Tsuro.

Citadels is probably a good choice since it plays a relatively high number of people.

Seconded on Citadels do love it and I've never played it with more than 500. Go ahead and bring the Resistance, as a quick glance around the flat reveals that I've left Avalon somewhere I can't quite recall.

Well a lot of redundancy eating into my collection (Cosmic Encounter, Citadels, Munchkin) but I'll grab a few things (Hive, Saboteur, Dixit?) and bring them along. Probably get there fairly early and read until people show.

Edit: Oh, keen to have a game of Coup, not played that yet.

I will be coming again, it was fun last time. I can bring Citadels along so you don't have to bring too many games Stense.

So, I thought that since I recently moved to London, attending such a gathering might be fun.

Could some veteran key me in on what these are generally about? How many people attend?

(I know these questions would get answered if I browsed this thread a little, but currently, I'm dead tired)

I can actually bring a Tafl game, if you guys fancy. Cant play it, though:)

HerbertWest, it's pretty variable how many people tend to turn up to be honest. Usually there is a good enough crowd for a few tables worth of gaming stuff. It has also been jam packed with folk or had quiet low key affairs. Whenever the RPD folk are kind enough to post about it, we tend to get a good bump in the numbers. Hoping that it will be a good crowd tonight! If you come (which would be lovely if you do) bring whatever you like, most games tend to need explaining to at least someone else. We're a patient bunch!

It'll be good to see you again kreggurree, maybe we'll get around to playing Citadels this time. I'll bring Resistance along then.

Just to throw a note in here so I'm subbed to this thread - I'll be living in London from the 1st of March, hoping to make it along to the RPS Socials.

Here early as I said. But sat downstairs at the bar as upstairs is football or rugby at the moment.

Edit: Rugby over so moved upstairs

Had a good time, thanks everyone. I'd like to come again, perhaps I'll even remember some names and be less shit at Resistance!

Sorry I had to run off early, the underground and train network had to be an outlet for my masochism, when compared to complete species extintion... well there weren't any rail replacement bus services running so I think the extintion would have still won out.
