I went on the internet and found this: Wings of Saint Nazaire
Alright, the basic jist is, as of right now, it's an arcade-y space combat sim featuring a mix between advanced sprite and basic 3D polygon graphics. The first release is going to be free-to-play multiplayer only, with a full story/campaign mode being developed for it afterwards. Not sure how far along or how close it is to release/beta, so it's not something that'll be released soon, but I'm going to keep my eye on it. Strangely, the sprites work.

Man, those two gif are gorgeus. Of course, I'm a sucker for pixelated textures on low-poly models, but, hell!

Looks kind neat, maybe a little too colorful. Also the name is kind of lame.

My thoughts upon seeing the opening bay doors:
"Wow, nice looking DOOM mod".
Then I realized it's a full, completely separate game. And proceeded to facepalm.

Love the little "laser charge" display in the cockpit, and the "link laser" indicator. They're burned into my brain from X-Wing vs Tie Fighter from when I were reet small.
