It doesn't happen frequently, but you still have the potential for a bullet to kill you instantly even on 1/4 damage, especially at the start when you can't afford good armour. It's different from the previous games where arrows can be easily blocked with shields and generally don't hurt that much anyway, on easy difficulty.

I've been having a blast with Warband this week. At least I was before I bit off a bit more than I could chew. Those farmhands don't really stack up very well in a real battle.

You can also block bullets with shields. They don't stop them as good as arrows, but it can keep you on the battle considerably longer.

Dual wield a shield and a double barreled pistol and you will kill and live an entire battle or siege without trouble.

Yeah, Warband has taken over my life these past couple of days. Was pretty tough at first, until I learned to just accompany the big armies and get all the glory by leading the charge of 500 men, 20 of them mine. And I just know there's so much I haven't even scratched the surface of yet.

Heh, also my "tactic". Also works is taking potshots and riding around while reloading, just like mr. Quinns was doing in his cpt. Smith diary. The only thing I haven't tried are the grenades. Should be fun as well!

Grenades are tricky. You have to take care not to hit your own troops. If I bring grenades, I usually tell my troops to hold position, then I sneak up on the enemy from a hill or something so I can make a quick retreat, tell them to charge, THEN bomb the fuck out of any groups of enemies.
