Not-too-expensive, comfortable, backlit keyboard?

forget about the list price in the Logitech site. I came across one recently at the local mall for $45.

How feasible is it to actually work with no other light than the monitor and a backlit keyboard? I would think that the single-direction of the monitor would still get to your eyes and make it a bit uncomfortable after a while if you have no other lights on, so doesn't that defeat the point?
