Today I woke up late, found the hot water had not been switched on for the shower, was late for the bus, had the next bus be late, discovered that they're remodelling the office at work and thus smashing down the wall beside me, and have had a ridiculous number of work-related things go wrong.

Sounds like the perfect time to start an SI game!

Thanks to Heliocentric for the format. Bolded choices are what I'm suggesting, but I'm open to persuasion if people would like to suggest something else.

Look forward to being in a game with helio (who to my first glance seems like the big dog of SI on these boards).

Well actually i'm in another game with him which brings me to a minor point.

Not really having a whinge as such but snowball's chance is/has been moving at the pace of roughly 2 turns per week which kinda seems a little slow. Is this game expected to move a little faster?

re: map settings. I'm fine with anything but have found 10 token/small map games to be quite a different pace to the larger maps/game times and generally more action. But yep yep am fine with any settings really.

I'd hope to move at a pace of a turn at least every 2 days, and more likely every day, but I forgot to put any requirement in the original post. If you're likely to have a problem with this kind of speed, please let me know.

We have 6 players now, but Helio has generously offered to step aside if someone else comes in.

Since I don't believe in making things easy, anybody wanting to join now must also submit a suitably pitiful tale of humourous bad luck. Applications without any such tale will be refused!

One of our snowball players is a rps regular who is a new parent with an equally new child.

I took on the dual roles of admin and gobshite, but calling me a big dog might well be an exaggeration as I don't exactly *win games*. But I have a healthy line in coming second place. >_<

Ahh well a baby would make things tough yes.
2nd place isnt bad unless you are making a run for the win with 8/10 tokens left and tokens 9 and 10 fall in consecutive turns and you come 2nd by less than 10 prestige.
Then coming 2nd kinda sucks!

BTW, you didn't send invites, you "shared the folder" the difference is we don't yet have edit rights, invite people rather than "sharing it"

nope, that just cloned the content, you need to go to the dropbox page for the folder, and at the top click on the "rainbow folder" icon and "share this folder" what you have done so far is just "share link"
