    Blackspace

    http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...defend-survive

Do you think this game will reach its goal? It got first 100K in the first few days and then it stopped. I really want it to get made.

Yesterday the devs did an AMA on reddit:
    http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comment..._making_indie/

    and an interview here:

Lets get more awareness on this gale and lets get it done.

It's possible, but not very likely. I backed it, I think the idea is interesting and unique, and Gillen knows the RTS genre needs some original ideas.

Its so strange to see the funds rise, rise, rise and just stop. I backed it too and the idea is so fresh and new. The funding goal is a bit steep but its doable...with a big push.

When the first teaser trailer came out, I was interested. Cool aesthetics, could have supported a lot of interesting game mechanics. When they launched the Kickstarter, my interest dropped low enough that I didn't even put in the $15. The impression I now have is that it's a dressed-up game of tower defense with intervals of busywork and a little bit of "hey we got physics" thrown in for little apparent reason.

The semi-casual players who might like a smorgasbord of shallow mechanics won't think to check out the game because the austere visuals create the impression of it being hardcore and sim-ish.

Blackspace also has the misfortune to attempt its Kickstarter in the wake of Planetary Annihilation having just vacuumed 2.2 million from the "RTS on asteroids" market segment.

I was sold as soon as I saw the missile woosh from the Lander in the enemy drone.

As far as games go it looks spot on.

I've pledged a hundred dorrahs or something but the game really needs a last push.

With it picking up votes on greenlight though we may still see it yet somehow.

They've had a wonderful kickstarter campaign too, much better than the (probably) ill fated Nexus 2 campaign.

But yeah I think PA has hoovered up a large part of the scifi monies on kickstarter for a while. A shame really but never mind.

Heck maybe Nvidia will pick it up as a tech demo.

That could be the excuse I need to get rid of my 6970 AMD piece of shit.

I doubt Nvidia will pick it as a demo. Remember what hapened to the game by Intel from the guys who are now making Hawken?

Also this reminds me Battlezone...talking about Battlezone I really should try my Bionite: origin alpha...

The only thing that bothers me is that it was designed around the controller.
