I'm pretty exited about Double Fine Adventure, as I've been watching the documentary in progress (backers only=). I'd really recommend it, it's quite entertaining. You can still back the project at their website, no special rewards though.

What, no mention of Overgrowth ?

It's a melee combat/outdoors type of game. Regular alpha progress videos show amazing stuff. Amazing engine, and designed to be moddable. They want to make scripting and generating user content as easy as possible.

I have abnormally high hopes for that one. It looks vicious and so mod-friendly.

What got me was how mod-friendly it's going to be. Even if the core game isn't so great, someone's bound to take the engine and make something interesting out of it.

A ton of it. Every month they release a 20-30 min. documentary on the progress of the game+other videos on individual devs and huge forum posts on every aspect of production (programming, design, visual style...). All videos are extremely well produced and are really entertaining if you are interested in this kind of stuff. It's a great way of seeing what goes on behind the scenes of creating a videogame. I encourage anyone mildly interested in it to back the project through their website and enjoy this AND the game when it gets released.

It's very good looking. What's the combat looking like though, since that's what will ultimately make or break the game? If it's like Dark Messiah/Dishonored I'll take 2 copies.

Add Distance (Nitronic Rush inspired successor) to the list. Simple small game, but looks a fun one.

They added a whale race as a mod. That's how mod friendly it is. :P

    Sui Generis. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...63/sui-generis
It may not get made, and even if it did I can't say I would expect it to be good quality, but that engine looks nice.

    Also, Overgrowth http://www.wolfire.com/overgrowth
Nice combat, but likely reliant on players for story content.

    Starbound http://playstarbound.com/.
Terraria in space (no actual space gameplay, apparently you travel planet to planet with a purely text screen).

And Planetary Annihilation if anyone hasn't heard about it yet. http://planetaryannihilation.com/

Their tech is very impressive, I took one look at the video and found myself pledging :) Now let's hope they can make a great game with it.

I loved terraria and I'm following this from afar. I'm very curious to see where they are taking the concept and how they will expand on it.

Here's my list of games that I think look good in coming times and aren't mentioned a whole lot:

    Moments of Silence

    Bandit Party

    Two Brothers

    The Wild West

    Slimeful: Greedy Piggy Chase

    Kilgazar

    Ritus

    STEALER and Journey to Hammerdale

    Environmental Station Alpha

    Kings of the Desert

And there are more, but those are the ones I can remember.

Project Zomboid and Age of Decadence, if I'm limiting myself to alphas/demos that I've played. I've also played more pre-alpha level releases of The Dead Linger and Kinetic Void, but it's too soon to judge their good looks by their progress.
