    Project Zomboid coming to Steam

After all the bad stuff these guys have been through it's good to see things are improving, Steam should really help them get more sales

Can't know for sure but the 'proof of pre-purchase' box is checked.

Ohhh. So that's what "it all depends when other companies come through" means. Nifty.

I can confirm this () as well as say that lemmy hinted that it won't be exlusive to Steam.

I should clarify on this since it's now out there. It's not quite as exciting as 'being on Steam', at least not yet, but Valve have done us a massive favour in allowing Project Zomboid to use their servers and auto-updating and whatnot. We won't appear on the store and Steam accounts will only be via redeem codes, so purchases will still be through our site. It's possible we'll pop up on the Store at some point in the future when the game has more content and is more complete, but none of that is for sure at the moment.

Being huge Steam fans ourselves we'd gladly use Steam exclusively, but the fact of the matter is the game is also on Linux, and as such we still need to maintain our own version so Linux users are not left out.

Anyone who has already purchased, or who purchases in the future, will have the option of a Steam key for the game. :)

I'd assume it is somewhat like Natural Selection 2? They currently have no store page but are hosting Beta on Steam, most likely coming up later.

    Anyway, thanks for the clarification.

I can't wait for the RPS post which announces valve are witholding the money because the developers are probably terrorists/in the mob/the embodiment of the devil.

Did you not read lemmy's statement? They are still doing the sales, we will jsut get the pleasure of Steam delivery.

I know it sounds mean, but if you have to ask, you shouldn't know.

Love the creepy atmosphere they've created, very impressive. The music is spot on and the field of view adds just the right amount of challenge and creepyness. Right, time to find weapons!
