SOE president John Smedley has just made a statement confirming the news about Planetside 2's Aussie Server.

“We're genuinely excited to have Planetside 2 have local Australian servers. It's a first for SOE and we're hoping that the commitment we're showing to Australian gamers can get them to take a look at Planetside 2 and help us build a thriving community down there!”
