Battlefield 4 True Naval Battle Revealed

Last time naval vehicles demoed at E3 were like accessories to ground combat, now a true naval battle was revealed, I think this kinda intensive naval action FPS is the first I've ever seen:

And not only that, you will see that there will be real-time storm going on during battle, that says you will have to fight your enemies through the storm.

I hope EA will soon announce how players' accounts are managed. I really want to be able to play this in cybercafes.

One thing thought: 64 players max. cap again?!

Arse. I didn't want there to be a valid reason to buy BF4 because of how BF3 went (decent enough but not enough people I knew got on board with it so I never really experienced teamwork) but this looks great.

I loved BF3 and played it tons at release but as per usual if you don't buy the map packs the player base you can interact with diminishes every time a new one comes out, to the point where finding a full Vanilla server 3 packs in was pretty frustrating.

Looks great, specially the last part, starting in 1:13.

But I fear balance would need to be very good, or all naval units will just be easy prey for a single player on the server flying a jet. I can already see how this would go really shitty very quick even with one jet in the map.

So maybe they will bring back piloting aircraft carriers and giant ships?
My personal biggest disappointment about the new BF games (even the BF1942 remake titled BF1943) is they removed the ability to drive the big ships. WTF?

I've had the same problem as well. Playing without teamwork is just half as fun. Maybe we can get enought people together here for at least one squad?

I think I will wait until a discount on premium to get this, seeing how I stopped playing BF3 after 2 months (not because it was bad, just no time and to many other games). Looks great. Doing a lot more than what CoD does with rehashed small 8v8 deathmatch maps.

I do miss naval combat of BF 1942... destroyer with a scout was the best.

It looks like less stuff than was in BF 1942? I can't even drive an Aircraft Carrier.

You could at least add frigates/destroyers for a modern setting.

It's not really "naval" combat, just boat combat

Hey, that Wall Street Wizard setting for commander again.

Actually what kind of mon setting is more expensive? One large screen divided into different sectors, or multi-screen?

    Boats vs Jet Skis!

Bare minimum to be called Naval is a destroyer/frigate, though you'd also want submarines and carriers really.

What is that jet which looks like a F22 but with two tiny wings in front of main wings? F22's STOL/MTD?

I think one of the russian prototype jets, Sukhoi something.

Also, the naval combat is really not naval at all, ever so slightly bigger then BF2's RIB boats but nothing compared to anything before. Not even a destroyer or escort ship, or a sub to mess about with. Really, we need manoeuvreble carriers again!

I don't understand what the problem was with piloting the big ships. They removed that feature in the console "BF1943" remake of BF1942. The only problem I can think of is when you have some asshole steer the ship off the map, killing everyone on board. Disabling the feature is a horrible solution to that problem.

It's just awkward, really, after you leave school it's difficult to find a group of people with the exact same routines as you so playing an online game with any kind of co-ordination is impossible. My best PC gaming friend for instance works until 6pm all week and comes home unwilling to sit in front of his PC and has his weekends completely free. I, on the other hand, go to college part-time so I get home at about 5 and I'm ready to play pretty much all evening, but I see my girlfriend almost every weekend, so there's very little overlap for us to play any of the co-op games we always say we're going to play.

I don't know, though, if we had a platoon with a good leader who transferred leadership when he couldn't be arsed any more, the platoon could be kept filtered so that it didn't fill up with people who just don't play any more, that would make it much easier for active players to find people to play with, but most platoons I'm a member of are ghost towns because of people like me. Also I hardly ever actually played with any of them.

The other difficulty I had was finding EU players to play with, I guess I wasn't looking in the right places though.

Just started playing BF3 and after a few hours I already have a list of things that annoy me greatly. I doubt I gonna buy BF4 because after the last games I don't have much faith in Dice fixing issues outside of the video and audio department. I think I'll stick to other games until Battlefront comes out.
