Amazing! So sad that as soon as you click on any link, your '98 gaming dreams are destroyed by a perfect couple playing on Kinect.
My Retro Gaming Show! We compare older games against modern standards. Then get a non-gamer girl to swear a lot at them.

And they're both using avatars that were apparently made that day and based 100% on their current appearance. Or they just like to dress exactly like their avatars whenever they play anything on their xbox.

Off topic, does anybody else like to spend time looking through these old bits of internet history? I can waste far too much time reading old articles from the 90s/early 2000s about games and technology in a time which was perhaps far more optimistic.

Relevant? The middle bits are mostly boring. The first 90s and last 90s are fun times.

    It's not gaming-related, but here's one beautifully-preserved late-90s website:

...and also Peter Serafinowicz's amazing pastiche of 90s web design: http://www.peterserafinowicz.com/brian-butterfield/

    The Internet!

Actually pretty much any of the Computer Chronicles videos are well worth watching. Man, reliving the Windows 95 era... I feel old, and I'm only 24.

    http://reocities.com/
    Archiving Geocities.

    Also this project is brilliant:
    http://www.deletedcity.net/

As is the 650GB Geocities archive torrent that's out there.

The history of geocities & it's archaeology is a lecture for undergrads in various disciplines that just writes itself...

There is also Wayback Machine: http://archive.org/web/web.php which lets you look up websites from when they just started to the present.
