Steam woes

Hi

Is anyone else having problems with Steam? I was on it just now, then got cut off (connection to everything else is fine), then when I closed and reopened it, it claimed a client update was imminent. Now I've restarted it again, it's saying this:

The link it points to doesn't work. Anyone else seeing this?

Sounds to me like something is preventing you from connecting with Steam, but it can't go into offline mode becuase the client update hasn't completed (or something). Can you get on Steam's store page OK?

If there's definately nothing preventing you from accessing Steam's servers you could try deleting the client (basically delete everything in the Steam folder except "steamapps" and the Steam .exe. Then launch from the .exe (not from a shortcut) and it should re-download everything from fresh (just the client stuff, your games will remain untouched).

Was just about to try that, when it allowed me to log in on the nth attempt. Looks like it was still updating or something, as you said. Thanks for the help!
