Jol I think we are wasting our time waiting for 2lab. Doesn't look like he has played a game since quitting after a couple of turns against Helio a couple of months back and hasn't logged into the forum this month. Has he said he still intended to join after dropping out the Divisions?

Yeah, I noticed that. And one of his last posts was about retiring from the DoD until after the summer. I sent him a PM earlier today, but he hasn't been online on the forum in a month so if he hasn't turned notifications on it's unlikely he'll notice. (That's a good thing to do for those of you who haven't.)
Problem is that without him we are at an odd number of players so will need another reserve to step in. If anyone's just waiting for the right moment to join in or invite a friend, now's your chance!

Prester John did us the favor of applying with a throwaway team so we can get started. Everyone will get a skip week and a recorded draw when coming up against his team. ChainsawHands is the first to get this treatment.
If someone new applies in time to play the first game, he can replace the filler team. After that it's too late.
I'll make the first round a long one, with a deadline on August 25th. You can find your opponent in the spreadsheet by locating your team name, looking to the right for a '-' and then following the column up to your opponents name.
