This is what happens when I'm gone for a day? I'm watching you!

Also, Duffin neglects to mention that he was one failed GFI roll from making that 2-1 instead of 3-0 with some rounds left for a new goal in either direction.

So suffice to say hands had a VERY unlucky match last night, it ended up 5 - 0 to the Dar Wancing elves ! im just about to set off on holiday so cant really go into details.

Lets just say blocking failed and dodging didnt

Continuing the theme of people having unlucky matches: I beat Zoraster's 'flings in a rather one-sided affair today.

He had around 800TV in inducements and got the chef, Zara and Mn'T which made his a pretty scary lineup for AV7 'zons apart from the lack of tackle. Fortunately Zara did completely nothing with her 2 attempts at stabbing. My stamping on her head didn't seem to be doing much either but then I got lucky with a 1d block that gave her a BH in about turn 5. Zoraster's trees did pretty much nothing all match failing 5/6 throws, taking root at every opportunity and rarely knocking a lady down. Morg n' Thorg was slightly more useful causing a couple of K.O.'s and preventing me from scoring a defensive TD for most of the first half by holding the ball near his own end-zone but one of the girl's was able to K.O. him in return and he didn't get up until the game was effectively over.

Overall I injured at least 6 of the opposition and scored twice with no reply so it was a very one-sided match. It was a shame as I had been watching Zor's progress this season with interest and was secretly rooting for the little guys. However, the number of 1's rolled meant it was never going to happen. I got 4 level ups which has now taken my TV to something like 1950 so it's about time I got some player turnover going.... I'm sure President W. will volunteer to help with that. :P

Thanks for the game Zoraster, good luck with the rest of the season!

Yeh now you have said the innocent :"it's about time I got some player turnover going", Nuffle is going to brutally and viciously destroy all those evil blitzers with guard (I hope).

I have 6 grumpy ogres who have scored very few injuries so far in this league if you fancy sacrificing a few 'zons to me?

You’ll need to roll a few pows first Groovy :) That was the big problem for my lads yesterday, especially early on. Block dice killed me, with my 8 pows and 15 stumbles going up against Drawls 17 pows to 8 stumbles. In a contest between dodgy teams that is killer distribution, especially when I rolled marginally more block dice.

The Trees had one yesterday. Failed at pretty much everything. They rolled 40 block dice, resulting in a grand total of 3 pows. They rolled one to fumble 5/6 TTM attempts. Take Root was failed early burning rerolls, and worse they suffered the dreaded dual Root failure in turn 3.

The game was really lost in the first quarter. The second turn ended with a failed block that took out a fling, and Drawl’s two blocks that turn scored a KO and a CAS removed my AG4 fling from the match. That totally destroyed my left flank and the Tree on that side rooted as he was about to move back to support. Blocks and failed dodges continued to remove flings leaving me down to a lone wee fellah midway in the half.

I had one huge break; Drawl went for a one die blitz on Morg with his strip baller. Both down was rerolled to skull. Armour broke, KO. I now had a chance of holding out. Morg blitzed himself free (annoyingly with a double Pow; virtually my first of the game and as I only had 8 in total it was a pain to waste a spare). The plan was to head towards a corner and use pitch geometry to limit assists, and get Zara back to support. I was happy to accept a turn 8 surf and rely on a favourable throw in. 0-0 at the break would be a fair exchange for Morg as it would leave me with a guaranteed chance to equalise but Drawls numbers were too great. I probably should have risked the GFI or dodge with Morg once Zara was taken off as it was only a matter of time before enough ‘zons were on the scene for a two die hit. The KO was a final kick in the teeth :)

The second half saw much more favourable dice. My ‘flings started doing their thing but without Zara or Morg I had no way of getting the ball back or getting 3 dice blocks in key areas. Break Tackle was utilised to get a Tree on the BC, but it was more a case of hoping for a failed dodge. Once the BC dodged away any remote chances of snatching the draw were gone. So ends the unbeaten record, but as I’ve got to mid-season in the top half I’m not going to complain :)

So I assume Khryses has dropped out of the Open then? As far as I can tell he hasn't posted anywhere since 11/07, when he said he was dropping out of the Divisions due to wedding pressures.
Just him vs Ian left to play for this round.

Looks like it, but he has turned up at the eleventh hour before this season so maybe he'll appear like magic on the morrow :)

I took advantage of a spare minute (rather total boredom in a telecon) to mark up the next set of fixtures on the sheet so once we get final word from Ian that the game is/isn't happening we'll be ready to roll.

Excellent. Looks like I am playing that Ian fella next. When would you like to play my orcs, that Ian fella? I can do Friday all day, or Sunday evening, or evenings through the week. Cheers.

Whoops, didn't realise we'd moved on. Can't do today, so shall we aim for Sunday evening?

I think we can take that as confirmation from Ian and as the deadline was last night I've given Ian the walkover and rolled the week.

Duffin my good man, when do you wish to meet? Sunday looks best for me, with Wednesday or Sunday week the other likely options unless you can do during working hours on a weekday which will always be my preference.

Let's do that. Then I have the whole evening to celebrate my epic victory*.

Zoraster, my fine gentlemen, it would seem that two kindered spirits have finally been reunited given that my preference is also during working hours. I'll be watching the f1 this Sunday so Monday daytime or Wed daytime are my best times.

Monday lunchtime suit you, say noon? Later in the afternoon would be no bother but that would be my preference.
