Sorry Corkir, was being an intellectual abroad (drinking in Ireland), that should be fine and dandy, I am excited for the clash of first and joint second
Janek can you do a game before the rugby on Saturday?
Grinn! Reply to my PM and posts! Or are you afraid of a pack of halflings?
If you don't come back to me quickly I'll start leaving sarcastic comments on your blog. I did that to Jiiim...
EDIT - What's the appropriate collective noun for halflings? Probably not "pack". I'm going to go for either a "hamper" of halflings or a "graveyard" of halflings.
Usually, a group of more than half a dozen Halflings of average belly extent is called a "ham" ["Did you see the new Halfling team? That's quite the ham those Beastman will have face in their next game."]. Smaller groups sometimes might be referred to as "Schnitzel" or "meatbag/bag of meat".
Thank you SF.
Well then Grinn - are you prepared to face my schnitzel? Are you? I don't think you are.
You're welcome.
It is with a sad sad green heart that I have to give up yet another match. And with it comes the realization that with my current three-job workload I am not going to be able to keep up two leagues. So it's time to retire the Gears weary bones and pack Gonzi's murderous wang-spike.
I'll stick to the divisions as the breaks between divisions and the slower pace fits my hammered schedule better. Apologies to the rest of this season's opponents although I'm sure no one will miss the Gears' bloody ways.

Sinister Sixteen (Chaos, me) vs 3 Feet High and Rising (High Elf, laneford)
With inducements to spare, I brought a chef and a wizard to this fight. The elf team are serious vetersna, with skils and injuries falling out of their pointy ears. The chef was probably what kept me in the game the most, as I stole 1 then 2 TRRs and edged out an advantage in the attrition game.
But there's no cure for elfball, and laneford took the lead with a jammy passing play deep in my own half just when it looked like I'd secured the ball.
We'd been dogged by sweltering heat for most of the match and in the second drive I was missing three warriors - damn their tin can hides! - which eliminated the numbers advantage I'd been building up. The drive ended without score.
Half-Time Score: 1 - 0 to the elves
The second half was better. For one, laneford's near-crippled megastar thrower (level 6, 3 stat-busting injuries) had caught sunstroke.
I began by defending deep, bashing would-be catchers while waiting for the inevitable long pass from laneford's lone thrower deep upfield. As I began to take the upper hand I threw my wizard away on a risky shot at stalling/injuring his thrower, but he wasn't even stunned. However a midfield catcher snake-eyed the pass in the next turn and allowed me to hustle around the ball. Sadly laneford followed up with a classic elven counter attack, stealing the ball from my partial cage and chucking it downfield to go two goals ahead.
At that point, I really dug my heels in. Aided by a kick that went off the field, I formed up a solid cage before laneford was able to interject, and then it was just a matter of pushing it towards the end zone for a consolation touchdown.
Honestly I was expecting a much worse result.
Full-Time Score: 2 - 1 to the elves

Sorry to hear that, Grinn. Best of luck getting the whole "3 jobs" thing sorted.
Just so I am clear Corkir, we're on for saturday afternoon, what time were you thinking?
What happens with Grinn's remaining games this season? 1-1 draws?
If so would Jolima mind if I adminned my game to see if any of my players have levelled up?
