Although black orcs are pricey for what you get.

    ?

40k more than a zombie, and you get +1ST +1AV and strength access? Sounds good to me...

Slow ST4 roadblocks for 80K, seems ok to me. There isn't much competition either, although saurus are better for the same price.

The following deadline is mutable - the earliest it would be is on Monday 1st July, but it can be delayed no later than Friday 5th.

It'd be really handy if we could finish the next round early, as I will be unable to play a game from the 1st to 11th of July inclusively.

I think the way the rounds work I should be able to get a game in on Friday the 12th and still be within the deadline, but that depends on my opponent being able to make that day!

Chaos Warriors give you so much more for so little more TV though.

And if you could take Chaos Warriors on an orc team that would matter.

Yes, but the choice isn't between chaos warriors and black orcs is it? It's between black orcs and orc linemen.

Orc linemen are great for what they do, but I would still take a black orc over a lineman in an instant.

I will try a full calorie line up sometime. I think my lite orcs are based on the more conservative DoD TV teams.
I'm failing to writing a blog, specifically about playing games the wrong way

    Laneford and Axler!

You two still have a game outstanding, and the Open will be rolled on late night tomorrow[/giant_writing] whether or not you manage to play it.

Sorry, there is no budging on the deadline this week.

We were planning to play on Sunday, hopefully we can bring that forward to tomorrow. If not Laneford should be given the win as it was my fault we missed our original time.

We have played, you can move the league on.

I managed a 4-0 victory at some cost. My veteran of 74 games, and 141spp specialist LoS, guard, sidestep, blodge +mv lineman got a career ending -ST (Apo helpfully offered death as an alternative). Helpfully I managed to level up a blitzer, and he now has guard, so I'm not down in that department. Still. A tragedy. (I'm considering keeping him around anyway, because this is probably my last season with these elves, and I want to see how many of them I can keep with me.

I was playing against Axler's chaos, who luckily for me, rather lacked tackle. Even more helpfully for me, his minotaur insisted on throwing nothing but turnovers. I recieved and scored early, despite an inconvenient blizzard. The rest of the first half I played a ludicrously aggressive defensive system, kicking deep and hurling catchers at any beastmen left back to collect the ball, I knew I couldn't stop his cage once it was formed, so I focused entirely on disrupting any attempts to form one, marking his LoS death machines with blodgers and sidesteppers, and using the ST4 catchers I had, to nick possession deep in his half and score, basically splitting his team into two bits, and stopping them meeting up with the ball. It was high risk and required many many dice rolls, which were luckily on my side, and distinctly not on axlers. Had I rolled the number of 1s he did, the outcome would've been very different.

Cheers for the game Axler. We remain, somehow, still, joint top of the league.

Vast Aire Watch: He completed his 97th, 98th and 99th career pass and despite one or two hairy moments when he was fouled or scragged by a minotaur, emerged relatively unscathed, onto 162spp. 14spp to go!

Week rolled on. I'm not clever enough to muck about with the spreadsheet, so the fixtures are here

20P's nurgle team absolutely smashed me. I rolled double skulls all over the fucking place, failed a clear majority of ugly bugger rolls, and it was generally a slaughter (I took 7 casualties - that's 13 in 2 games).

    2-1 to the nurgle.

Managed to retire a couple of rotters, including the dirty player, but that's it. Will be missing my killer, my ball carrier, and a couple of others for the next game too.

It was three last time plus the starplayer wasn't it? I'll struggle to beat that.

You have plenty of AG4 fat that needs trimming though. :p

There are times when I wonder if foul appearance is worth it. Then games like yesterday come along where an unfortunate opponent rolls a string of 1's when attempting to block/blitz. I haven't been on this end of such a thorough nuffling in a long time. The only ray of sunshine for EB was a lovely fireball which took down all four targets and allowed him to recover the ball from a tight spot. Other than that the poor man never stood a chance. Kisaruab, the killer warrior is having a stellar season and is in double figures for casualties this season I believe. Instantly regretted firing the DP though. -MA/-AV would still have allowed him to do his job I think.

With hindsight, now that I've calmed down, if I had stalled another turn before scoring then you would have had to work a lot harder for the win. In a sense therefore, the defeat was avoidable. Still though, I was running out of players fast and since every dodge seemed to be failing I decided to score on turn 6. Big mistake. Still, no permanent damage and we'll try and do better next week.
