Hi Ian, I was about last night, but was busy this evening until now. I'm off ooop north until sunday night (and may be somewhat worse for wear come that evening). How's monday night sound to you, if cyanide deems us worthy of playing?

Monday it is.

Assuming we're still on, groovy, I'm probably looking at being later than I was for our last attempt at getting our game played. Nearer 8.30 or 9pm at a guess. That okay?

Actually, groovy, I may be able to get on a bit earlier after all. Basically just try and sign into Steam from whenever you're available (if you're online anyway/in a position to leave your PC idling) and I'll give you a nudge when I'm on, if that suits you. :P
But if that doesn't work for you then I'll aim for what I said in the above post to be safe. I shouldn't be any later than that, certainly.

1-0 for The Horny Goats against LowKey's It's Catching. A significant TV difference saw It's Catching hiring Grashnak Blackhoof, as well as two babes.
The Goats kicked off, and the star player began to look like a good investment, killing a chaos warrior on the first turn - apothecary stepped in and turned it into a Badly Hurt, putting the warrior back on his feet. Despite the setback the Goats were putting in a good attempt at pressuring the ball carrier, managing to get the ball into the hands of a chaos warrior, when Grashnak made his second big contribution to the game, as he rolled a double-skulls as the first action of the turn, leaving the chaos warrior free to run up the pitch, and also leaving two (possibly 3?) players in a position to be crowd-pushed. Grashnak further distinguished himself by rolling another pair of skulls as his first action of the next turn, leaving me free to score on turn 8. Along the way I noticed Grashnak had AV 8, so I fouled him out of the match.
The babes proved their worth at half-time with 5 KOs recovering, and then the second half was largely uneventful as the goats trudged around the pitch, except for a last-minute miracle AG2 dodge knocked my ball carrier down and left no one in range to score.
Thanks to LowKey for the game, which would have been a lot closer if Nuffle hadn't pissed on him quite so hard in the first half.
Me and Ian just played, the second run out for my necros. I'll write what i can recall in here (bbmanager is refusing to give me the details, so this may be a bit hazier than usual).
We're fairly evenly matched at the kickoff, Ian's team gaining a slightly worrying bribe but all else is equal. I choose to receive (in the hope of getting some skink-hits in early). The ball gets touched back to my wolf and the game is on. I bash a skink down on the left and make inroads into the wing. I tentatively hold up the lizards on the line. The lizards bash back, but remain tied up due to stand firm and block being annoying. I push into the wing, a little close to the side (with hindsight, see later!). And try to tie up as many lizards as possible. My wolf is almost in striking distance of the line already. Turn 3, all starts to go wrong. 2 zombies and a golem go down to 2 turn stuns, my wolf gets knocked down by a krox (I'd left a bit too much of a gap!). The ball goes free and is recovered... by a saurus. Bugger.
I try to get my players out of there, but im looking pinned now and short on numbers. My i stand my wolf up to get away from the sideline, but am thwarted by a block result. None of my players are near the ball, i try to get my ghouls back to help, and some zombies start shambling back. But its not looking good. Ian neatly places a skink on the side, pushes my wolf onto him to go off the pitch. He trips over and gets shanked by the crowd. Stone dead. And ,as always, regen doesn't work (I'm keeping a tally, 3 regens in over 20 injuries since i decided to put them in the open!). So my nearly lvl 5 wolf is gone. :-(. Still, I manage to get a couple of players free and put a bit of pressure on the ball. Of coursae, as he's a saurus, he blitzes down his markers and gets down to the line. I do the same the following turn with some heroic dodging, but a further blitz sees the TD go against me, turn 7. I bash again from KO but to no avail.
Second half, I'm kicking and haven't had a great deal of luck so far (apart from a good number of pows on skinks, but only one that led to an injury so far). At KO, I score a blitz, knock down a skink and get a wight under the ball alongside a zombie (good job I'd decided to go short with my kicker). He makes the catch! This causes a scrambled defence from ian, trying to get his massed lizards off the line of scrimmage and back to help. Again, my block/stand firm helps, but still leaves one saurus with a blitz - which is a push, My wight has a couple of skinks and a saurus next to him, but its not insurmountable.... My turn, I blitz in with a wolf, stunning a skink and getting a 2-dice block on the saurus. Which is a push. I bash elsewhere on the pitch, but to little avail. Ian hits me straight away with his saurus, getting a knockdown, and the ball spills into the hands of my wolf. The following turn, I get some support in to bash the saurus away, but i get a push again, leaving the wolf marked. It's looking a bit sparse, my cage, and I've got a ghoul oput of range of EVERYONE on the right wing. If I can just make a pass... The wolf goes for it, dodging away (after a reroll) and gets to short pass range. 4+. He scatters it, and it goes worryingly towards my own half, where his saurii are still lurking on the line, and few of my players are there. This is not looking like such a great idea now :-). Ian's turn, he gets a skinks onto the ball, and ties up the majority of my players. Following this, I charge in with my free ghoul, who makes the block but leaves the ball on the sideline. I decide not to follow it up, then bash the rest of the pitch. Ian's down to 2 skinks now after a couple of good injury-causing hits. I'm still in with a shot. A zombie gets free, so i decide to try and secure the ball further by picking it up on the sideline. which succeeds, nicely. Its not looking too bad...
Ian once again positions his skink behind my zombie and blitzes in with his free saurus. He hits the ghoul, scoring a KO AND taking my zombie off the pitch, causing a smashed ankle. Flippin heck. A double takedown. The ball gets thrown deep into Ian's half, and he retreats with a saurus whilst locking up the remainders of my team. I start to get desperate, I bash a little, KOing another skink, then dodge away with my 2 wights, both making it and getting onto the ball. Unfortunately, they were marking saurus, who follow up to cluster around the ball. The last skink approaches the cage but doesn't pick up. Once again, I decide to blitz the skink, scoring a 4th injury and taking the last skink off the pitch. I start trying to reogranise the Line of scrimmage to get a golem free. I'm going to need some bash to get the ball out of the saurus cage, but at least ian can't pick it up now? Wrong, Ian pushes my wights away, swans in, picks up the ball, runs downfield, hands off to another saurus. Luckily, i free a golem, so i crash into the ball carrier, getting the knockdown.... but sending the ball bouncing into my own half, surrounded by saurus, after they fail a catch and leave in between the krox and another saurus. None of my players can get anywhere near. But as long as ian fails the pickup...
Ian picks it up and runs into my half, in touchdown range now (he did use a reroll for this one, at least). I've got noone left in range, bar a wolf who has to make 2 dodges and 2 GFI's to make a 2 dice against hit. I go for it anyway and he fails the second dodge. Ian runs in for the second touchdown, i receive a kick, bash a bit, and the game ends.
So, a little hard done by there, the saurus ball handling felt pretty harsh, but i guess i should have set up to take account of that. I feel my team did fairly well, just a turn our two in the first half when half my team were off or 2 turn stunned took the initiative away from me and in the second half I maybe shouldn't have tried the risky pass, I should have worked a running play in there.
Anyways, a dead wolf means i've bought a freshman for the next game which against... Jolima's pro elves. I hope my necro's have got their best bashy gloves on, because with only one player with tackle against a team with all dodge and ag4 it could be a long afternoon. At least i get to hire a decent merc, thanks to the 500k inducements. Now, luther von drakenburg or ramtut III? Decisions, decisions...

Indeed a bit of bad luck but ChainsawHands played the better game and deserved the win, that's the second time Blackhoof has gone of injured, wont be picking him up again >:( to be honest I never know what to do with all that inducement
I was a little lucky with the saurus handling, for sure. I mean 1/3 of a chance to pick up isn't that outrageous but to not have burned more re-rolls on getting them the ball than I did was definitely lucky. I'm not sure my overall play warranted a 2-0 win to be honest, but one thing I think I did do well today was picking my blocks. Engineering some crowd pushes, keeping werewolves pinned to the touchline for a number of turns, etc. That was probably the best aspect of my game today.

Unfortunately my train (assuming no delays) gets in at 8:30 GMT. It would take me about 20 mins from then to get home and turn on the comp, so 8:50 would be the earliest start I could offer.
If its not Wednesday, then Saturday is looking good. Morning is best but can also do evening.
Hey HughTower,
When are you available to play? It looks like Thursday morning (my time (7 hours behind you) = your afternoon?) might be able to work for me. Otherwise this weekend, but I believe the gameday ends Saturday.

Does anybody hang about in chat looking for a game? Whenever I come on there's nobody in there and I don't know if it's good form to just ask anybody within the group who happens to be online. :-P

Most people either do it via Steam or the Challenge League thread, I think.

That's why I always call it UK-o-time, since I can never remember if we are on summertime or wintertime or which one GMT actually is. I think summertime is one hour ahead of GMT - but even if that's right I've no way of knowing if whoever I am talking to knows that.
To me, GMT is whatever England time is, since I'm CET here in Germany.
Ánd, sorry to muck you around again, but my wife went ahead and made plans without consulting me for Saturday evening and my attendence is mandatory. So... My only availability is 3pm GMT tomorrow, or anytime before 10am GMT. If you can't make that, I'm happy to forfeit (unless time is being extended to Sunday?)
I think generally it's safe to assume that GMT = UK time, if people are using it.
But as Weasel said, I tend to refer to UK time to be safe.

IT causes no end of scheduling confusion whenever it appears in BB leagues. Apart from anything else you had best hope we never get a member from Iceland join the league; they are GMT all year round, as is a vast chunk of Africa.
The reason you really can't afford to do it is GMT is zulu time, the static reference everyone uses to calculate their offset. If you say CET today virtually everyone will automatically assume you mean CEST and turn up at the proposed time in GMT +2. GMT doesn't receive that same treatment as many will assume you are meaning zulu time rather than UK time.
To really throw the cat amongst the pigeons there is an ever strengthening lobby in Blighty for us to stay on BST all year round meaning Iceland (plus Portugal in the winter, possibly Ireland too but I expect they'd follow us) would be the only Europeans using GMT. I wouldn't be totally surprised if we do end up BST all year round within the next decade.
