Not very exciting but a tremendous battle of wills, me desperately trying to hold onto the ball, Jolima desperately trying to relieve me of it. Eventually I knocked enough of them out that I could surround the rest to score the equaliser on the final turn.
The long awaited clash between Zoraster's Strenous Garfighters and the Gears of Mork was played this week. The Garfighters enjoyed a good Nuffle-fluffing breaking orc armour like it was made from eggshells and sending a fair share of the green ones in the Knockout and Injury box. The Mighty Blows and Piling Ons that the Gears threw at the Garfighters did very little to dent the naked-mans steel exteriors. Half-way through the first half the Garfighters outnumbered and outpositioned the Gears into a cosy stall till turn 7. The Gears' turn 8 bash was largely ineffective.
The second half saw the gears grinding slowly up the left flank for a few turns, then, once again being outnumbered by the blood-thirsty norsemen. A veteran Ulf was finally killed, but the apothecary rushed to the field and saved his hairy hide in the nick of time. Outnumbered once again, the orc cage breeches got to a point where they couldn't be repulsed any longer and Zeppi L-Hafi, the thrower captain, initiated a series of brave dodging runs up the Garfighters' half. The rest of the cage dodged and weaved gracefully away from the ham-fisted norsemen and scored a late TD to tie the game.
At the rate my orcs were flying off the pitch (and the rate the norsemen weren't) kowc Zobbfest is more than happy with the resulting draw. The Garfighters retain their unbeated lead - but at least their winning streak is halted. 8 wins and 1 draw for the Garfighters. The Gears are still biting at their heals with 7 wins and 2 draws.
