This is the sort of film that I shouldn't go to see in the cinema, because I'll be making stupid comments and laughing at all the wrong bits (I feel sorry to anyone who has sat by me and my sister in a film). I imagine it will be nothing I haven't seen before, with the same plot and utter lack of logic, doesn't mean I won't enjoy it while I'm watching it.
Oh ,and since when is the most effective way to attack a monster with modern weaponry to get up nice, close and personal with F22s so you can use their cannons?

Not that this means that Pacific Rim will be any of those, but you can forgive a few of us for having that impression after all the orange and teal action films of late. I think the trailer alludes to the film having some vague social critique. All I know is, elbow rockets. Fucking. Elbow. Rockets.
Indeed, the perfect movie for a movie night with a bunch of buddies.( at home, not at the cinema.)
It also looks like a sly way to present the concept of Power Rangers in year 2013. ;p

There's a distinct lack of terminally depressed teenagers for this to be like Evangelion. If we really want to make an anime comparison, it seems to be closer to Gundam and its spin-offs.
