Terran soldiers are also apparently somewhere around 13-15 years old judging by their voices. It's not easy being conscripted.

That might also be why they smell of wee.

Yeah, saw that yesterday. Thinking about building a suni for that. Still not sure if I should get double Bulldogs, double Furies or one of both. Tried the Fury a few days back and man, these babies wreck infantry... I think in this situatione one or two Furies would work even better. Dunno about their damage to a sunderer but they can surely deny any spawning infantry.

Well let's see, double Bulldogs is 500 certs, double Furies is 2000 certs, and they do exactly same thing.

    Right. Didn't think of that.

Well, they shouldn't but as SOE designed this game they sadly are. Same with HE tank weapons also being pretty good against vehicles and the like. I wonder if they will ever change that.

That's what happens when you release the game in beta state just before Christmas then give all your devs extended leave until next year.

Only leaving Bob to keep the servers up

Found a fairly well done podcast specifically about Planetside 2, the ReachCast:
    http://imperialreach.com/planetside-2-podcast/

Three americans talking about what has recently become my new favourite pastime.

Edit: one of the forum posts they mention on the last show is a pretty good guide on infantry play in PS2 (and FPS games in general).

Spamming stuff here; since I can't play as much PS as I'd like, I spend some of that time watching vids instead...

This one cleared out the confusion around soft point and high velocity ammo a bit. Assuiming it's correct, of course:

Depends on bullet velocity increase actually. It should increase killspeed.

Yes, I can see the practical usefulness of high velocity having some merit on certain wepons.

as far as i know as ive got both ammo types on my old favorite rifle, the high velocity doesnt increase damage it just takes a large amount of bullet drop away from the gun so longer shots easier kills from long distance, and soft point i thinks worth the pennies as it does increase damage upto medium range and i think it increases Rof but dont hold me to that i may just have a quick firing gun hehe but yeah its upto whatever dude you wanna create long range id go for high velocity and close to medium soft point, i dont think theyre a waste :P

I do use SP ammo at all times for my LA/Engi and Medic CQC cannons. Can't honestly say I've tested whether it seems to make a difference in real game play terms. Have yet to try the HV ammo for my med-long range weapons. With Vanu weapons having negligible bullet drop, I don't expect that to make a big difference, but leading might be a bit easier, maybe.

    Decent video, but one issue:

His recommendation to keep moving whilst capping doesn't apply for indoor cap points.

You know the usual ones: Control point up the stairs on the first floor, then stairs up to the big wide roof which has inexplicable container crates on it. At these points, when capping OR defending a point, don't move. Choose a stairway or door way and keep your eyes on that. If you keep running about you won't react anywhere near as fast.

Please stop typing such posts. The only tangible thing you get from getting this out is making yourself look more miserable and that's all.
