I see, next time I will say nothing which should give me a good chance for a random win, if you were in doubt then surely a draw would of been more appropriate, or you could of asked and I would of been happy to clarify, instead I made every effort to arrange a game and when this didn't work out - and not due to any fault of my own - I posted so that the division wasn't held up and for this I get a loss.

I appreciate its done and its not your job to admin this but I am pretty annoyed that I have been punished after putting in all the effort.

Played my day 3 match against Cyberpunkdreams, the classy chap. Great game, thanks again. I won't play in the next season, can I remove my details from the spreadsheet already, or do I have to wait until the season is over?

If I wish to stay in for next season with the same team; do I just do nothing and it will happen automatically? Or do I need to do some form of fresh sign-up?

Squirrel - please wait until the season is over.

alleycat - try to keep an eye on the thread please. If you want to stay in the league then you don't need to do anything to the spreadsheet, you will be seeded into a division for next season and you'll need to apply to that division in game.

    Thanks both

Speaking of filling out spreadsheets, which section do i fill out with my details? Season info seems like the closest match, but not really sure. The whole thing is a bit vague really.

Votes are in. 7/8 of the hierarchs have voted in favour of a IRL gang foul which will be carried out by the yes voters.

Now the vote begins to decide who should receive the gang foul (Everblue/Lowkey/the hierarch who voted no).

Thanks for the reply, I will be away from Sunday onwards until after the new season has started. Just so the admins know that I'll be dropping out.

The Altdorf Army will be taking a pause for the next season. I will have availability issues and so will not be able to complete a programme of matches. But rest assured, they'll be back, I still have 3 originals left and one of them is missing next game so there's no way they can all die next match.

All righty. I'd be sorry to see you (and them) go forever but I suppose after so many seasons they're due a month off. I'm sure you know how to do the spreadsheet to indicate you're taking a wee break.

    Div H

Lorei'elf (Elves, Dentharial) VS Nogbad and the Bad Nogs (Norse, Dolphan)

With the other 3 coaches in Div H apparently willing to draw every time, even a win by Dolphan would put him on 5 points to my 6. As such, right from the start my goal was simple: survive.

Unfortunately, that's not something I'm very good at. I think I'm still playing with half an orc mindset, and I'm far too happy to put my players into base contact. Nonetheless, armour on both sides of the pitch proved to be more sturdy than expected, with only a couple of elves KO'd in the first half.

With the Norse receiving, the first half was a fairly slow grind down the pitch. There were a few successful moments of knocking the ball carrier down and generally scuffling the ball across the ground, but Lorei'elf were never quite able to make anything happen. With only a single turn to respond, I set them up safely to get a pass 1spp, and try knocking down a couple of the more fragile Norsemen, and of course a riot happened, but to no great effect.

The second half began with a typically elf touchdown in something like 3 turns, but the armour was clearly beginning to give way. More KOs had happened, although fortunately only 2 remained sleeping at the next drive.

This next drive was where the injuries started piling up. Nonetheless, the Norse had a tough time moving forward [Edited after the below comments: Actually they were totally fine. But the ball carrier would have been vulnerable to a 1-die block wherever he was put] to the point that on their turn 14, one Norseman made a somewhat desperate dash [Edit 2: not actually desperate at all. Strategic, so that even if he was knocked over, he could get up, grab the ball, and score even with limited movement] forward with the ball. The elf Blitzer was then able to blitz him down with a mere 1-die block, KO him, but then tripped up when trying to GFI and put a tackle zone on the ball. With only 3 elves standing, plus the blitzer on the ground, there was not much trouble in running a bad Nog forward, picking up the ball, and making the GFI to score.

The final turn on each side again comprised of the 5 elves on the pitch making a pass, and knocking down a norseman with a blitz, before all running the hell away. And the final Norse turn saw the Yhetee try to give chase with a blitz, only to stun himself on a GFI.

Final Score: Lorei'elf 1 - 2 Nogbad and the Bad Nogs

The final remark in all this, is that every single injury scored was a Badly Hurt. So despite the fact that most of my team was off the pitch, I move forward with a full salon of elves. Moreover, my passing got both a lineman and my 2nd blitzer their first level ups, and the touchdown and MVP both landed on my Wrestle/Dodge Catcher, which gave him the exact 8spp he needed to secure level 4.

I don't think I could have won this match, but I was a couple of lucky rolls away from scraping a draw. But I can't begrudge Dolphan his win with my team in that condition. Onwards!

They better be back. I STILL haven't beaten them yet. Fourth times the charm I'm sure!

It wasn't that tough - it was a deep kick and I scored in 5 (I think) turns, which isn't particularly slow for moving up in a cage. The dash at the end was a bit pointless really, I just had to move him one square or more closer to the endzone and you would always have a shot at the dodge and 1D block on the carrier regardless of where I put him. Didn't expect you to KO him with it though!

I think the riot at the end of the first half was actually a tad more important than it seemed, as it gave me an extra round of blocks that took the elves from 1 KO to 3, only 1 of which then woke up for the second half. Before that I was a bit worried that these were some shockingly invulnerable elves!

It seems that by pure chance I developed the Army to murder Pro Elves. I've lost all my specialty Blitzers bar Wulf now so when we meet again I'd wager you'll have a good chance.

Cheers! The high point (or low, depending on your perspective) was my fanatic getting hit by a rock: out of the game before he'd even had a chance to swing his ball once. I was hoping for a draw on this one, but in the end was lucky to escape 2-0 down I think.

Squirrel, I hope you're not leaving us forever!

    Oh that makes sense...

While I was writing the report, I couldn't figure out why you made the dash, so I figured the only explanation was that you were having trouble moving forward. But that doesn't really make sense either, considering there were only 4 elves on the field at that point.

You're right, now I remember it, I think most of the Nogs had already moved for that turn, and the ball carrier was on the outside of the scrum. Wherever you put him, my Blitzer should have been able to get to him.

    Sorry for misrepresenting you!

Div I: Urgat's Uglies (Orc, Drake Sigar) 2 - 0 Thunderbox Scramblers (Gob, Dog Pants)

The Scramblers kick off in the face of a heavy Black Orc front line, and the Uglies waste no time in ganging up on the opposing trolls. The Fanatic in the middle of the line makes little impression in his effort to relieve his lumbering teammates, knocking himself out almost as soon as he spins off. The Uglies surge on, around the heavy fighting in the middle of the pitch, to sweep up the flanks. A Scramblers goblin and their bomber find themselves trapped on the line by the flanking Orc linemen, the bomber escaping to leave his teammate crowd-surfing. Meanwhile the Uglies' own goblin has recovered the ball and is marching down the right field under orc escort. By the middle of the half the Scramblers are down five players, and the Uglies are herding them into a corner as the ball is advanced under a Black Orc cage. Unfortunately, the corner the goblins are being herded into is the same one the orcs are heading towards, so the Uglies' gobbo and a few orcs break for the centre of the pitch towards the line. A desperate two-goblin assault ensues, which nudges the ball carrier away from his escorts and then knocks him out. With time running low it seems as though the Scramblers might have survived the first half with a clean sheet, but their crazed attacks only slow the orcs and a thrower recovers the ball to score.

The second half with the 9-player Scramblers receiving and making for a gobbo-throw sucker touchdown while most of the Uglies are on the line eager to pummel some more little guys. The play looks promising as the ball is ferried to a goblin who is picked up by a waiting troll. Until the troll sniffs him and opens his mouth wide. A thrown Orca-Cola can and a stern look change the troll's mind, but at the expense of the throw. Trying to recover, the goblins scuttle forward through gaps in the orc line, but the ball carrier can't make his way around the centre huddle and is brought down. A small scuffle breaks out, with the orc thrower and two goblins exchanging the ball, but eventually orc brute force separates the squabble with the thrower and ball being hurried away back towards the Scramblers' half. The cage makes is way down much of the pitch unmolested as the rest of the team run interference, and by the time a few goblins catch up they are almost at the touchline. A few lucky hits are landed on the thrower, but fail to stop him and a second touchdown is run in just before the final whistle.
The Scramblers arrange themselves for a last-ditch attempt at a quick thrown touchdown as the game resumes for the final minute or so, but a long kick to the back of the field foils any hops and the game ends with some friendly punching from the satisfied orcs.

Coach Dog Pants enters the smelly hut of the goblin chiefs to debrief them on the season. The leader seems to be an obese, almost spherical greenskin with particularly crooked teeth and squinty eyes. The coach dislikes him immediately, but maintains a neutral posture and awaits the vicious goblin criticism. "Two deaths. Nine scored against," trills a gnarled old goblin sat beside the fat chief. Coach Dog Pants winces a little. The chief sneers, his wonky teeth seeming to change direction at random rather than move as expected, and he holds up a chubby thumb. The Coach starts to enquire if the chief is happy, but a roar-like belch from outside the hut causes the occupants to fall about in hysterics, so the Coach simply leaves to prepare for the next season.
