Mid-tier amazons vs high-tier nurglers is never a fun matchup for the scanty ones, but today Your Mother's Nightmares faced an utterly hopeless nuffling at the hands of Janek's Beasts of Bembridge. Suffice to say that I once again set my kicker up while receiving, and alongside that mistake set up defensively when I was receiving. Hngh. Not that it mattered in the end, as my turn saw everything roll a 1, achieving nothing whatsoever, and Janek's next dozen or so blocks knocked out practically the entire team. Thanks to a trio of guard players and Zara, the Nightmares were actually able to get in a number of good hits on the manky ones, but very few of them achieved more than some feeble shoving.

The match basically went on like that, with only one good thing happening in 14 turns (there was a riot) when star player Zara managed to injure a nurgle warrior, but it made bugger all difference, as the beasts just shrugged and continued to knock everyone over and casually stroll the ball in.

2 - 0 to the Beasts of Bembridge!

Scummy Shorties 0 - 4 Chaotic and Fabulous

Pretty one-sided, this one. Which was unsurprising, as the chaotic ones are pretty skilled whereas my lads are really not. Nevertheless, I did my best with some spirited fouling of various beasties which garnered 0 injuries again. Someday, my lads, someday...

(Jolima) Primordial Stew 0 - 1 Altdorf Army (Alistair)

Stew went into the game with 300,000 GPs of inducements and ultimatly the game showed that a bribe and Babe and a Wizard can do a lot but the y can't bridge such a cavernous TV gap. Especially when that TV gap was fuces around Jolima's devastated Chaos Warrior lineup that was made up of rookies lacking Block. 2D blocks aren't great when facing players with Block.

The game started well for the Army when after kicking off super Blitzer Wulf darted out of the line and badly hurt one of Jolima's Choas Warrior Nurgle mans. Standing off from the Choas mans the army eventually managed to flood the rear of Jolima's cage and force him to move the ball down field without a great protective screen. The beastman carrier was knocked down and the ball recovere by a CAtcher ho legged it down field, did I mention we were playing in a Bizzard? We were playing a Blizard. Jolima couldn't get anyone back to block the CAtcher but could get people in place to block him next turn if he didn't GFI twice to score the TD. I ummed and aaahd for a while and pulled the trigger, with the catch falling over and KO'ing himself meaning no score in the first half.

Into the second half and the hot block dice I was rolling combined with the lack of block on Jolima's Chaos Warriors meant I punched a decent hole up the centre of the pitch and moved my players through. Then Jolima unleashed his fireball and it worked perfectly knocking down the ball carrier and his escort. The ball was scooped up by a Agility Pestigor ran down through the general chaos of the centre of the pitch and lobbed to a secodn Pestigor, who failed the catch, the ball went loose. After a brief scramble for the ball the crucial moment occurred when the Setw's Beast of Nurgle went really stupid. Wulf (who else) swooped down on the ball and legged it up pitch behind a string screen. A CW made a dodge to attempt the blitz but just bounced ineffectually against Wulfs abs. The Chaos Warrior was peeled off and the Army stalled out the game on Stew try line to win the game 1-0.

So if Wink and PWeasel could kill each other and draw that would be great.

Unfortunately I don't have the skills to stop those pesky lizards so he's likely to win. On the plus side that's not going to matter to you as my chaos mans will utterly crush your puny human mans in the final game of the season to relegate you.

The Khepri Khemri Vs Irrelevant Illnesses Division F

A gaping wound of a TV gap saw two star players marching onto the pitch with a spare reroll as well to keep it.

The rain came pouring in to the horror of khemri players who had chosen to recieve the ball and it stayed there making the ball the least desireable khemri target on the pitch. So a fast brutal bash up ensued where a nurgle beast left the pitch and eventually a few kos of a tomb guardian and 2 warriors followed by a life saving regen on an experienced pestigor who was not ready for permanant retirement.

Until on the final turn of the half the ball was marched in for the lead.

This was not to be taken lieing down by the nurgle team who promptly got on the pitch koed a skeleton and set the tone of the next half by bashing back, even so despite the big brawl the nurgles got the worse end of the stick slightly by managing only a few kos and ultimately recieving the deaths of a few rotters but of no value until successfully wounding the most experienced tomb guardian on the pitch who will be watching the next game from the rafters. As the half came to a close a low risk pestigor left the fold to get the ball in range while tempting and open the star player Nekebrekfrakwhateverhisnameis failed to break tackle his way out for a blitz letting the pestigor get further away until a lone Thro Ra attempted to dodge away from the nurgle beast and badly hurt himself allowing a straight 1:1 Draw.

Nurgles did not agree with this result and with the return of a few more experienced players

Piss on it. I beat Wink 1-0 to guarantee promotion, and lost my best player (100spp, +1 agility extra arms block mighty blow) to a very last turn foul, pretty much the last act of the match. Dead rerolled to dead.

An internet glitch when I was 1-0 up against LowKey and headed for 2-0 cut short our match. LowKey very kindly suggested we set it to 2-0 but I reckon with a couple of KOs back he might well have been able to pull off an elfy TD so 2-1 seems fairer to me. Sound OK to the other admins?

Go ahead, CH. Not sure he gets any extra SPPs for it though.

I reckon Nuffle has spoken - I used to have the friendliest chaos team in the Divisions, no killers and a couple of elfbeasts. Now it's all killers, no thrillers. Nuffle wants me to ruin your teams. All of them.
