1.5 strictly speaking, but generally the 1.5 teams are called tier 2.

The tiers vary depending on who you ask. For RPS "top tier" means not Orgre, Halfling, Gobbo, or Vamp.
Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

(Nurgle) Fly Soup vs. Codsbottom Brawlers (Human)

    *ahem*
    2013-03-28_00003.jpg

Nurgle was blessed with a 2-0 victory. Graever is blessed with being a great sport and having an epic final match for the Brawlers.

Edit: I can't work the stupid image machine. You need to click the thumbnail to view it. Pah.

And just in case it's not clear from the image, Yes that is the whole team in the KO-box (except for the two unfortunates that where badly hurt and the one, err, "fortunate" who got fixed by the apothecary).

I like to think of it as a fitting end to the long downward spiral of the Codsbottom Brawlers. And at least they all managed to survive their final game to retire. :)

Now to figure out how to mark myself as rebooting to necromantic without breaking the spreadsheet...

I thought the tiers were pretty much accepted as being Ogre/Gobbo/Fling, Vamp/Underworld, everything else (with some people putting Pact, Humans and Khemri between vampworld and the others as tier 1.5)?

Unless you've already got Juggs, in which case there's an argument for dodge or pro or claws.

    No there isn't
    or pro
    Not a convincing one
    or claws.
Yes, OK, claws on a rat ogre which already has Juggernaut is a reasonable choice. I'll allow it.

Pretty sure thats cheating. In a year of playing my rats in the DoD I have had zero ST increases. You must be stealing mine

Read in Tooth and Claw (Necro, me) vs. The Beasts of Bembridge (Nurgle, Janek)

A match in which nothing worked for me apart from regenerate: 2-0 to the Beasts.

Tooth and Claw have now played 48 matches, but the sum total of MVPs on the team is just 16 (7 of them on zombies). I'm amazed there's anything left.

I had three on my last team and got one decent season out of them. Then I started losing 1-2 players per match, culminating in the +ST guys.

    I swear, +ST is a curse, not a boon.

My +ST Block Tomb Guardian failed to do any damage, except for a single KO, after getting his +ST. Don't do it man.

+St is often just bloat. Only a handful of player types can carry it off. Anything AG4 (natural or boosted (including mutant with their extra arms and heads)) and anything which already has blodge. If you are AG4 you turn into a bulldozer which can spring from spot to spot and still give a mighty slap to blitz the ball loose. If you are already blodge you are looking to force your opponents into risky blocks.

If you are AG4 and blodge you are an elf and nuffles shadow will engulf you.

There are some bash teams which really benefit from a player with +ST too - it can give dorfs and chaos dorfs a reliable player to spam guard around, and teams like undead who can't get a ST>3 player with non-doubles block find it really good too.

But yes, +ST shouldn't be an auto-pick - many players will benefit from a double skill (or even a normal one) more cost-effectively, just as with the other + stat rolls.
