Yeah been waiting this ever since they first announced it. Looks cool. Fun fact from the last night stream: they said that to actually hit with the firearms, you need to aim. Unless your cursor actually is over the enemy, the bullets will just go past / hit walls etc. I already love that as an idea.

So there is instant Beta access for anyone who prepurchases the game now... Is anyone playing it? If so, is it worth the 8 quid?
I got into the beta without buying. My first impression is that there's not much meat to it. It follows the unlock scheme Paradox has been using lately, and the core gameplay is what it is. There are three melee weapons: fast, strong and silly, doesn't matter if it's an axe or a bat all strong weapons they behave the same. Parkour and shooting feels good enough, but I can see it wearing out fast.
This is after one hour or so, but may come back this weekend.
Mutliplayer-only and an unlock system.

Hmm. I found the unlock system a bit annoying, but I've unlocked all the Beta weapons now so I'm less annoyed. The gameplay is generally pretty slick, though aiming can be pretty hard.
I'm not sold on the special powers, yet, either. I haven't figured out what the Cop or the Martial Arts Guru do, but I haven't seen anything power other than the Jetpack and the Personal Shield turn a fight around. I also haven't noticed a difference in speed or anything other than the special powers, which seems like a missed opportunity to me.
There really, really needs to be a way to change your loadout without quiting a server. ARGH!
Anyway, it's pretty fun. Definitely a working beta, but fun. :)
